I may be completely wayyy off on this one. but i remember hearing once that if you maintained a piece of property for something like 3...5..or 10 years? that it becomes yours. i have no idea if there is any truth to this, but i remember my friend getting mad any time his neighbour mowed over his line into his (about 2 feet or so) because of that theory. I also know another friend who lives next to a nice bit of land (enough to plant another home) that the town has ignored for more than 10 years, and it became 5 foot grass, so he had been maintaining it for the past 5 years or so. So maybe it will become his by default. this could be some crazy myth, but it may be something to look into, since it went un-noticed for so long. could be a different situation tho. i know that there are zoning laws and such that do not alow you to build garages and shed etc. within a foot of your neighbours property,so maybe your drive way falls under that area? who knows.

Thats right. I remember years ago,a main sewer pipe had cracked (from age it was clay) It happened 1 foot in on the front lawn from the road.Naturally since the city claims something like 10' of your property from the road,My dad called the city and told them about it. They own that property,so they should be responsible right?? wrong! They said its not their problem,so we had to go thru insurance, which wouldnt cover it( act of "god") So we were on the hook for 7g worth of work and damage. moral of this story is,Its the cities property only when its conveiniant for them, but if someone breaks their neck or something goes wrong within that 10' its your problem. double standard. what can ya do.

NICE! i love the spro frog jr. i have 3 of them. the best one i ever had was the green one but no one in my area has it or its sold out. my black one gets lots of hits but hard to land anything on it. ive made some adjustments to it and heading out tomorrow. what colour were you using?

I use 30lb power pro braid as well and i use the palomar knot every time. when i first bought braid line the dude at the tackle shop told me to use the palomar knot with braid. i was using clinch knots before (on my mono lines)

A few weeks ago my friend and i were out on a lake and none of us were having any luck. he switched to a weedless worm that was black,or maybe it was a very dark purple.....but it had a pink tip. i switched to a crank bait, his first cast and he landed the largest bass of the day.

Question about conservation areas in general
Lunatic replied to Lunatic's topic in General Discussion
uh,sounds like you described exactly what he was talking about. use tax dollars to create flood controll area, then charge you to hang out around it. you can pay to fish in it....after you pay for a fishing license. my big complaint isnt so much i have to pay, its the cost. it should be 4 or 5 bucks per car. period. 2 bucks for walk or bike in's. -
Question about conservation areas in general
Lunatic replied to Lunatic's topic in General Discussion
thanks. it says on the website at hilton falls, "no use of any floatation or boating device" i think the fees are too steep for conservation areas. 8 dollars per person and vehicle, then another 4 dollars for a passenger, come on! really? just like camping at a provincial park,we pay for camping ,3 people 2 nights, almost 70.00, then when the 3rd person shows up they charge him 20 dollars to get in with his truck, what the hell!? i feel real bad for anyone who wants to walk a trail and has to pay fees like that. hamilton has plenty of free trails but they will prolly put a highway thru more of them and force those people to pay to walk in a conservation area. the world we live in eh. -

isnt that great? you pay for a fishing license and sportsmans card, and if you want to fish a conservation area for a few hours you get to pay again! -

no one? no one knows or fished at hilton falls? maybe i'll be the first then -
must be something about the fishing this year. ive had lots of bad luck, more then usual. but i use 30lb power pro braid for everything. only lost one lure due to a pike biting through it. was fishing for bass so i wasnt using a leader.

I love bass pro shops. like someone already said. kid in a candy store. but since its a long drive for me,i only get to go in bps if im on my way north. the closest tackle shop to me would be fishing world in the hammer. its an okay place, some people there will try to sell you anything and everything, others will talk you out of buying things you dont need. hit n miss. they ran out of certain baits i use and only re-stock once a year so i have to try somewhere else soon, and id like to try grimsby tackle since a few here give it a thumbs up

I remember years ago when you purchased entry or a day pass into a conservation area for fishing or hiking or whatever you do there, that the pass was good for the day in any conservation area within that region. ie: halton. my question is, if i were to buy a day pass to get into say mountsberg, would i be able to leave and use that same pass in kelso? (both halton) another question, has anyone fished the hilton falls reservoir? the website says no floatation devices aloud so i imagine it must be a fairly small lake? i wouldnt mind giving it a shot from shore,if i can pack up and re-use the pass down the road at mountsberg.

having one bad day isnt a reason for lessons, new hooks n rods etc. ive seen him post pics a few times. so he can catch em. everyone gets skunked. although i did try an ugly stick in the store and it was like a whip lol. but hey, what about the admin whos catching fish on a dollar store bamboo rod??

ive been three times this year. i fished dils lake. the bass are in there. 3.50 a person to get in. worth the price if you ask me

i hate crowded areas. i remeber in the spring i was fishing a small hole, and 2 kids pulled in and i assume had thier gear all set up and ready to go ,because they poured out of their truck and had casted within 5 sec. and both managed to cast over my line. then they did it ahain and i told them straight up there aint no room for them, and if it happens again i'll toss them in the river. they didnt do it again but we were within 5 feet of each other and i was already annoyed. so i moved down the river where the action was no good. hate city fishing. but the funny thing was, that time was out on the chippawa. good luck bro.

56 crank baits. whoever lost it,must be a very serious fisherman.or he has been collecting for along time

sounds alot like my saturday. we were out for the whole day, i got 2 good hits but no takers. was very disappointing

Im using a shimano sahara and i love it. very smooth. its in the 100.00 range, maybe a bit over. bps has good deals

Just got back fromthe tackle shop. i was looking around for my green spro frog, but didnt have any left so i settled for a yellow one. looked around for the rebel craw, but no luck. so i settled with a hula popper in a frog colour
-
i catch them on jig heads and twister tail grubs. even bass go for em. a white twister tail grub usually works best for me. very inexpensive set up also walleye love worms. tipping a mepps #3 with some worm is another good set up.

teach us oh wise one

its awesome to see the variety of different go to baits we use. im really liking a lot of these. anyone ever seen or use the zara spook jr.? has a dressed tail. the rebel craw looks pretty cool as well, i dont think ive ever seen those used before.
-
Im going to the tackle shop tomorrow,to possibly pick up another frog. and possible 1 or 2 other baits. im thinking maybe a spook or a hula popper or maybe a new pack of firetail worms? what are some of your all around favourite bass lures and colours? looking for some new ideas. they didnt have the colour frog i wanted last on sunday,so i bought one they highly recomended and got skunked. which happens. so.......lets hear it, what to get!?
