I still throw cranks from time to time and always have them on hand but over the past 2 years they have been shuffled back in the arsenal in favour of better producing baits,same goes for buzzbaits, love using them but don't get much on them.

mepps black fury are a good start. i know pike take them like candy in the spring. number 3 -5 (maybe add a twister tail on the hook) moving a husky jerk real slow is another.

I had a friend mention the KVD 1.5 silent crankbait to me the other day. he loves it and is talking like its the best thing hes used for crankbaits. im not a huge fan of crankbaits nor do i ever have much luck with them,but i jumped on bass pros website and read a few reviews (all of them good) and on youtube to watch more good reviews. anyone here use these? are they really this good?

you guys have been a great help. i really like the 3 receipts idea. to throw a monkey wrench into my plans the wife wants a boat with a wheel so we can go tubing,sking and swimming from as well. im trying to convince her that we cant use that kind of boat on small lakes plus the gas in a 100hp motor would be murder compared to a small tinny lol anyone here ever fished lake O or erie in a tinny?

thx guys so taxes need to be paid on both the trailer and boat?i;ll be buying a package deal i hope. so ill only be paying taxes on the total cost of the boat/trailer right? never know with the goverment,thats why i ask. wonder what happens with getting homemade trailers and boats as far as registering them?

so ive been looking to buy a used boat,nothing crazy just a 12-16ft tinny.ive never owned a boat just rented them or used a friends. so i have no idea what i should be looking out for? ill need to buy one with a trailer. do i have to pay taxes on the boat or trailer? do i need ownerships,plates,registrations? safety? any help or direction would be great thx again. also i see fiberglass boats and have rented one before and it seemed fine to me at the time, should i stay away from these?

like i said earlier green trilene xl is my favourite mono, i use it in 10lb but my main rod/reel is set up with 30lb power pro braid. nothing wrong with braid,ill use it for any type of fishing.

fished it from shore just yesterday for about 15 min. fiancee caught 4 lm bass before we decided to head back to camp.

we were there last year. the place was nice,the owner was nice and helpful,the lake and area are great. but we didnt catch much at all. found out before we were leaving that using fake baits and plastics were no good. anyone who caught anything did it on worms and minnows.

awesome, the colour on the netted bass is just awesome. i know what you mean with the whacky rig, i caught a few 3 and 4 pounders on it on sunday.

Good catch. i said it here before, ive heard of people catching walleye in that lake but never see it. that place is my least favourite conservation area to fish. the shore line is sub-par and the bass ive caught are small. but thats just me.

They could have been targeting Pike. pike take bass baits and hang out in areas bass like. hard to tell sometimes.
