  1. Short one today then off to the SOO!! OMG I couldn't be more excited about this vacation!!!

  2. Thanks Dara great info hope it helps..are these places easy enough to find?
  3. Hey Dara thanks for the input, if theres any chance you want to get out for a day I'll shoot you my phone number. No pressure, beer and lunch on me? Just don't want to spend a week scratching my head wondering what I did wrong. I've been watching the LSSU fish cam, looks like quite the fishery.

  4. Well its vacation time..(first in about 5 years) and me and the misses are heading to the Soo for a week!! As I've never been I'm looking for a little help. With a baby on the way I'm thinking this will be my last trip for another 5 years so I'd like to make it a good one. Was wondering if theres anybody familiar with the area or if theres anyone who would like to go out for a day of fishing. I'm pretty good at reading a river and knowing what to be looking for in terms of where fish lay up. Would love to go wading the st marys rapids, but am looking for some shore fishing (or boat rental opportunities in the area) so the wifey can get out too..pretty sure shes wont be doing any rapid walking. Any and all help will be appreciated..like I said with my first baby on the way I'm hoping for this trip to be memorable as I'm not sure what the protocol is for leaving a wife and baby at home and how that will fly in the future. Anybody with info can pm me if they want or anyone looking for a fishing partner for a day I would be most grateful.
  5. I thought this was going to be like asking a Leprechaun where his pot of gold is!!! I've gotta say a little surprised over here..
  6. Thanks guys, if you's don't mind me dropping you a pm later in the week to check conditions would appreciate it. Will talk to my friend but I'm sure we have room on the boat for 1 if anybody wanted to go.
  7. Was out on the maiden voyage of Tipsea II last weekend on Lake Erie and got Skunked. Crappy day cold and wet and clueless as to where the fish were. Couldn't find so much as a hand full of grass? Tough lake for first timers forsure!! But as luck should have it we both have next weekend free and were St. Clair bound. We know all about the Belle River Hump and its whereabouts as we've experienced its bountiful treasures. My only question is hows the fishing? It's a four hour drive from here and we don't wanna go on a cold bite. Not looking for any spots, just wondering if there's fish to be had. Thanks all in advance..tightlines, trout is t-minus 6 hours!!!
  8. 500 dollar deposit on the boats..Been there twice in two years first time awesome, second time pm me if your interested. Early spring would be your best bet, buy summer the weeds are high and thick EVERYWHERE!!
  9. Thats WILD!!! I can't even fathom it, get the wifes rubber gloves and jam that "bio fuel" right up inside there door handles!!!! I'm so tired hearing about losers like this, make the call, OPP, MNR. Being the nice guy and trying to educate straight up isn't working...
  10. Sounds like a good deal to me. The way I see it is after retiring from who knows how many years of work this old boy still can't sit still, must be of good character. You can usually always trust a hard worker because they know what it takes to get what you have and they respect that. Take a six'r over to the ole boys place and check him out, I'm sure you'll find out everything you need from a few mins conversation.
  11. Awesome job Mike and Family...Can't wait for this years Fish-A-Thon..Nothing I like better then helping to Kick Cancers Ass!! What a truly great thing you guys have done!!!!!!
  12. check your oil...I had the same prob on a honda 5hp last year turns out it was low on oil and has a built in shut down valve when it gets too hot.
  13. Looking for good websites, or dealers to find a boat. I need a boat fishing friendly, riggers and such, but also a soft spot for the wife to sit and tan when she wants. HELP PLEASE!! Aluminum preferably in the 16 to 20 ft range, covered top a must.
  14. Thank you all for your kind words, day three and I'm still waiting for her to pop up around the corner of the yard, or thinking I hear her little collar charm ding off her food dish...This is tough, I feel cheated out of years of happiness and theres nothing I can do about it.
  15. Well St.Paddys day will never be the same around here, to me it will be the day I lost a great friend due to sombody's negligence. While doing some celebrating I had the Humane Society show up in my yard on Saturday asking if I had a cat named Smoke, said the neighbors had called and she was looking like she was hurt. I immediately went to her and no doubt she was. The problem was she was hurt by poison. The vets best guess antifreeze or rat poison. Seems somebody trying to keep away skunks or other rodents may have inadvertently poisoned my cat. He said there was no hope for her that it had some affect on her brain and she was suffering terribly so I made the adult decision to put her down. I spent the remainder of the night in tears blaming myself for letting her play outdoors. Yesterday I picked her body up from the vets and buried her with a few of her favorite things...toy mouse, check, toy ball, check, and a bag of temptations to send her through the pearly gates. She was my first ever cat and although I have always been a dog person I wouldn't have traded her for anything, I Loved Her dearly. So to all you folks who set out poison for pests try to remember that you may not only be killing them. Here's a pic of when she first came into my life. I know this is a fishing forum but needed to rant a bit and know that allot of yous feel the same way about pets as I do.
  16. Thanks Roy dont know how I missed that
  17. Dammit I knew I should have came down..Love fighting those big cats...maybe 1 day this week!!
  18. Hey Fishmaster you said you were going out yesterday when we talked on the phone..any luck?
  19. Only on your end...open from caledonia up there still open, with a few exceptions.
  20. Walleye is open until March 15th and pike til the 30th in zone 16..there are some Grand River exceptions as always. But it sounds like some good possibilities are out there if you know where to look...Now where to look?
  21. Called him today, and hes opening the shop doors tomorrow...no cutbait yet but I would bet he has worms. Anybody tried to do any pike or walleye fishing in southern Ontario? Never had the oppertunity really to do much river fishing this time of year? Curious as to how to go about finding pike in these conditions.
  22. Yeah I know about fishmasters and will call in the morning, the way I see it is sittin around in the sunshine with a line in the drink, gonna be the best Sunday of 2012 so far.
  23. Was thinking of heading to Dunnville on Sunday due to super sweet weather and an Itch I haven't been able to quite scratch. Any chance for some Cats out there in this weather or not worth the drive from Guelph?
