  1. Thanks.. I live in Barrie though. I called Total battery, and they sell the interstate battery, just with a different name.. I guess they're all made by Johnson controls, acording to the guy I talked to. Their batteries are suposedly the exact same as the interstate, they just have the Total Battery name on them. (as Fisherman said above) Their largest battery was $111.11. $30 buck cheaper then crappy tire.
  2. Well, I took it to Canadian Tire on my lunch for a load test. The results said it was an "unstable" battery. The guy said it's pooched. So my next question: Does brand matter with batteries? This one was a Nautilus. I didn't realize it, but it was built May 07, so it was pushing 4.5 years old. I guess I got more use out of it then I thought.. I know BPS carries some, so does Walmart.
  3. The liquid level is good. How long do you guys get out of your deep cycles batteries? I've been running mine a few times a month, for 2.5 years. Is it unreasonable that it's dead already?
  4. Great report. Never thought of using a padle as a cutting board..
  5. I used to be able to easily get a weekend of use out of my electric trolling motor. It's a 36lb with a big deep cycle battery. This year, I can only get about half a day. The usage I can get between charges has been drastically reduced. I charged it up last fall before I put it away. Stored in my basement, on a peace of wood. The battery is 3 years old, and stored the same way each winter. It's been fine every spring, except this year. I don't know if my battery is messes up, or if my motor needs some work. I thought maybe my motor is drawing to much from the battery? The fluid is over the top of the plates in the battery. And it takes a charge no problem. It just doesn't last.
  6. I hate hearing about stuff like this. Hopefully he pulls through. It apears a drug raid turned south, and shots where fired.. http://www.thespec.com/news/ontario/article/551729--reports-1-killed-peterborough-officer-wounded-as-lindsay-drug-raid-goes-bad There's lots of articles out already about the event.
  7. X2 for French river. Great sites. Also. 6-mile Lake PP, you can rent boats from the Marina around the corner. I have stayed at Balsam lake before, and when I was there, they did have rental boats. 14' with a 15hp (that ran like crap). Not sure if they still have them available though, this was about 6 years ago.
  8. I was raised in Wingham, and fished the river my whole life. Never near Goderich though. There are lots of dams on the river, and if your willing to do a little research like Cookslav suggested, you'll be able to find some holes. One of my favourite summer traditions was to drift the river in a canoe from the Belgrave area down to Wingham. Lots of holes to stop at on the way. Lots of bass, and surprisingly large pike. Tons of carp too, if your into that. Spinner baits and crawfish where the choice baits back then, 10+ years ago.
  9. I thought you where a sailor..
  10. Is there any way to touch up the on these? I would think that matching the colour would be tough.
  11. 6-Mile Lake. It may have something to do with the cottagers association up there. They're a little wound up sometimes, specially when it comes to docks and waterfront topics.
  12. I didn't think you where allowed to use pressure treated wood for buildind docks? Not at my cottage anyways.
  13. I was just noticing the same thing last weekend. My perch patern still looks brand new, but my other one, which has been used half as much, it all chipped up around the hooks. Likely from bounching around going from spot to spot..
  14. Thanks for the great input guys! That's a good idea about waiting untill bass season opens up before tossing the frog. I'll have to grab one of those Zara Spooks. I've herd other people talking highly about them too.
  15. Made a stop at BPS on Thursday. I picked up a few new top water lures. A buzz bait, and a Spro frog. The buzz bait is pretty self explanatory. Cast it out, and a steady retrieve. I'm not to sure the best way to work the Spro frog though? Should I be poping it, with a long pause. Or a bunch of little popes, like walking the dog. Or just a slow steady retrieve. I guess it all depends of what I'm fishing for, and where I'm fishing. I was just curious to know how you guys work a Spro Frog. Any input would be great. Do they work for top water pike?, or just bass? This is the one I bought. http://www.spro.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=SBEF60GRNT Edit: After posting this, I watched a couple u-tube vids, and it seems everyone works it a little different..
  16. He's probly still there. Curled up in a corner shaking..
  17. Mine is mounted on a peace of thin aluminum. I use it on my 14' boat too. Held on with a c-clamp.
  18. I might be thinking about a different place up that way. There's an access road that leads to a radio tower, and there has to be clear access for any emergency vehicles. One long weekend, the OPP ticketed all the cars parked along the road. It might have been a road accessing part of the Mcdonald, or Gibson river now that I think of it. Either way, something to watch out for..
  19. I know guys that go McRae lake a few times a year. They don't fish, so I'm not sure about the fishing. They hike in from the access road. I've heard that they started ticketing cars there though. So watch where you park.
  20. Thanks Jimmer. I'm going to try that for sure.
  21. Good on him for doing that. I don't know to many cops that would have done that. Around here anyways.
  22. Good luck today! Those are some decent perch.
  23. Would you care to share that recipe. Looks delicious!
  24. That's funny man.. I won't let my wife touch my bait caster. Nice looking rod. Unique.
