  1. There is a TSC villager in Barrie now too. Opened up earlier year. Where the old Co-op used to be.
  2. I'll talk to my neighbour, he has a few traps, but I don't know how large they are. If not, then I might be able to grab one from the cottage, but that won't be for a few weeks. Something you could use for a week or two.
  3. Just drove by. Half a dozen boats perchin by the water fountain. No fish there though.. There's a little chop, but nothing to crazy.

    pet goose?

Looks blinded in one eye. Maybe it's just the camera angle. Geese are weird like that eh. I don't know how to get ride of it. You could train your dog to attack it every time it comes on your lawn.
  5. I was wondering how you've been doing this season Sinker. Nice pile a grease there. I have two breasts from last year in the slow cooker as we speak! Never seen a goose look like that before. Looks like a giant hen mallard / goose cross. If you ever need an extra gun when your in the field, let me know.
  6. My boat stays in until the ice is to thick to break through at the launch. Got a few more months yet.
  7. Ya. They where mostly young birds. The hen mallard was decent. Hoping to knock down a few colorful drake woodies on Saturday, depending on where I go.
  8. Duck is excellent on the grill. Skin or no, they taste great both ways. With no skin, I just keep basting them in BBQ sauce. My geese I cook two ways. Slow cooker, with lots of sauce and a few slices of orange. Once their done, you pull them apart just like pulled pork, and make a sloppy Joe, or wraps. The other good way is to make jerky out of them, as long as you cut 90° to the grain. Oh man, my mouth is starting to water.. Can't wait till Saturday to do it all over again
  9. My hunting partner and I hit our blind early Saturday morning for the opening day in our area. Woke up at 4, in the boat by 4:30, at the blind by 5, flipped the canoe at 5:30. Blasting birds at 6:30, limited out by 8. The first flock that came in was 5 strong. My hunting partner dropped 3, and I hit the other 2. Great start to the morning. Half way to the limit, and we've only fired 5 shots! We ended the day with 8 woodies, 1 mallard, 2 teel, and 1 accidental mud hen (not picture worthy) Hope nobody gets offended seeing some pictures of daffy all shot up.. The birds were FULL of pin feathers, so we ended up skinning most of them.
  10. Absolutely!!
  11. Like Bob said. You likely would have had to toss some of the meat, depending on what part of the deer you hit. But you would still be able to get a pile of meat from her. Glad to hear you didn't cause any damage to the truck.
  12. I'm sure you enjoyed many stories about his past. Things you will never forget. Sorry for your loss man.
  13. Your an artist Randy. You Been takin lessons from Bushart?
  14. Wow. Now that's a Pail-o-perch. Holly smokes..
  15. I want to see how well if works after being run over. You can run lots of things over with a truck
  16. There was one guy, with his boat sitting sideways in the launch, when I drove by at 7:50. Only guy in the water. So you could have been there at 7:45, and been the only one on the water..
  17. I was going to go on my first moose hunt this year, but we didn't get the tags we where looking for, so the hunt was cancelled. Duck opens in my honey whole on Satruday.. Pumped about that Gunna lay a beatin on some birds.. Good luck on your hunt eh! Congrets on the bull tag.
  18. Welcome to town, and to the OFC. I don't fish for bass, but Simcoe has some brutes. Some good advice above. You shouldn't waste your time looking for walleye on Simcoe, they're rare on the lake, unless you know exactly when and where to look.
  19. I can say the same thing about you there Blair... Might take you up the ice shack offer again this winter
  20. Ya, we where pretty happy to see that hog surface. Considering all the dinks we where catching previously. It started to peal drag, I thought we had hooked into a smallie. To bad we didn't catch more like that I must say, for two fishing rookies, they both got the hang of it very fast. Miracon just dove right in, baiting the hook, and taking fish off the the hook too. Like she's been doing it for years. I don't normally get to fish when I have rookies in the boat, but I sure did this time.
  21. It's awesome to see people catch their first fish! And Thanks Skipper-D, after I tried my first spot in 20' with nothing, I headed straight for the deep water like you suggested.
  22. Ya, that what is smells like here at work.. That's why I was a little suspicious about the Minnesota forest fire thing.. I guess it's possible.
  23. Sounds like a nice day on the water.! Some decent hogs there.
  24. I herd this was the culprit. But I find that hard to believe.. http://www.northlandsnewscenter.com/enews/breaking/Pagami-Fire-Grows-To--129728278.html
