  1. Pretty much any bay in Lake O should hold loads of carp. Try waterfront parks along the shorelines in GTA.
  2. Just finished reading the whole series. I must say, it's one hell of a journey. As someone else already noted, your father is a trooper! I hope I'd be able to take a trip like that in my old age, but I'd ensure that my son carries everything. Thanks for the report.
  3. I suspect the vast majority of violations are committed by people who don't give a s**t about the rules to begin with. So while holding a written test may reduce unfortunate incidents caused by ignorance, it will do nothing when it comes to those bent on doing whatever the heck they want to do, so long as they can get away with it. Enforcement should be beefed up, the penalty of breaking the rules made dearer, so that if and when a person is caught for breaking the rules, he will learn a lesson to never think of poaching again. But then again, I'm probably living in la-la land, given how underfunded the MNR is.
  4. Good stuff. It's always nice to see a CO.
  5. What Terry said... given human imperfections, it will give an excuse to a lot of people to deliberately hurt the fish to keep it.
  6. Just got back home after putting in 12 hours of carping in a local swim. Saw at least a dozen carp cruising around, but they were not in the mood. One did decide to bite late in the evening, thankfully saving me from getting skunked. It was heavenly music to hear the bite alarm going off and the drag screaming after so many months. It's only going to get better from now on.
  7. I had a blast last summer in cottage fishing for those fur balls from the porch (without the hooks, of course). Improved my jigging skills, I think. LOL
  8. It's gonna hit 21 C today, 22 tomorow, and 23 on Sunday. All I can say is, Hallelujah!
  9. I guess you downsized your dog a bit, eh? Nice picture.
  10. Not to make light of this terrible accident, but I do concur that the man has his priorities right! Here is wishing for a speedy recovery!
  11. Lew, is that recommendation on 80 lb pp just for muskies or for other species as well?
  12. Sign of spring: first, a great hoopla over OOS picturess, followed by another controvery on spearing & netting by first nations. Works like a clock.
  13. I put 30 lb PP on my first baitcaster and didn't encounter much trouble. Worked beautifully.
  14. I don't know about other species, but I know that CC catches 90 percent of chromes.
  15. The weather looks beautiful for this weekend; hopefully it will wake them up and get their metabolism going.
  16. I spent a couple of hours today hoping to reacquaint myself with the good old carp after the long winter, but alas, it wasn't to be. Has anyone else begun carping yet?
  17. Good stuff! The second picture shows what fishing is all about.
  18. Get well soon; those fish ain't gonna wait forever!
  19. Those walleye never had a chance; they were up against a Jedi! I mean, who can resist the force, eh?
  20. If they can do show after show on exotic fish in the Amazon and what-not, I'm sure they can pull off this one as well. It's a very promising idea.
  21. Yeah, newbie, introduce yourself!
