  1. Not sure about the weight, but it sure is bigger than the smallies that I've caught so far!
  2. This reminds of that hog I lost yesterday... misery loves company!
  3. That last one is a hog! WTG!
  4. WTG, Matt! That's a good harbinger for this Wednesday!
  5. I bought a dozen bags of senkos to take advantage of the sales going on in BPS, and am thinking of going back to grab a dozen more to stock up for next year's spring fishing trip up north. Anyone know how long you can store them? They don't go bad, do they? Also, any suggestions on three must-have colors would be very much appreciated. Most of the senkos I bought are variations of watermelon with flakes, and want to avoid putting all my eggs in one basket.
  6. Nice report, and welcome to OFC.
  7. Can't believe the organizers didn't foresee this.
  8. I second Convergence for that price range. Around 47 bucks in LB, and you get lifetime warranty.
  9. WTG, thanks for the report!
  10. That's gotta be a nice surprise!
  11. Who really leaves the skin on until the VERY MOMENT you throw the fillet into the frying pan? I think that's a tad bit unreasonable if not senseless.
  12. Did they demolish the plant today? They were going to do it yesterday but cancelled the demolition due to the wind. There sure are some memories from that plant...
  13. The second-last shot, is that a bluegill or a pumkinseed? I always get those two confused. That fish is very colorful, almost tropical.
  14. Cliff, back to work man!
  15. Given how many lakes are in that area, you probably need to be more specific. Besides, it's not like Shining Tree is steps off everyone's porch. I don't see what harm could be done by naming a lake that gets hardly any pressure. Which camp are you heading? I was at Bay Wolf Camp a month ago; some of the other guests did quite well on nearby trout lakes.
  16. Hey peps, give it some more time and I'm sure someone familar with the lake will chime in eventually. Sometimes questions go unanswered, other times you get a ton of help, and neither has much to do with how many posts you've made. Good luck on the water!
  17. That lake apparently has a history of producing giant bass. It's gonna get pounded like never before!
  18. What a trip! Is it just me or did anyone else also notice Bill Clinton in the pictures?
  19. A quick report on my bass opener in the Island Lake, aka Orangeville Reservoir. I had planned to hit the lake on Saturday, but had to wait another day as my fishing buddy had to work overtime on Saturday. Frustrating, but the wait was worth it as I got some decent action. The number was not much to speak of (3 landed, 3 lost), but the size was, for this lake, a pleasant surprise. Here are some pictures; ignore the ulgly mug shots and concentrate on the fish. Now, for the many experienced bassers gracing this board, these fish may not seem much, but my relationship with bass had been estranged to say the least--I caught a grand total of one decent bass the whole season last year--and so I am very happy to have begun to patch whatever ill-feelings that might have separated us. The lake was choke-full of weeds; you couldn't escape them even if your life depended. It was a pain in the butt to push through the boat on a 30 lb trolloing motor--the trip back from the east arm took us nearly an hour--and the water level was down as well, making it that much more annoying. But for boatless people like myself, the lake does offer good, relatively inexpensive fishing opportunties close by GTA. All fish came courtesy of Mr. Yamamoto, on senkos rigged weightless and worked very, very slowly in the stumps and weed pockets.
  20. Great report; thanks for sharing!
