  1. I pulled a nasty like this one off my Dad's pc last weekend. The obvious sign of infection was a blinking icon in the system tray that popped every three minutes advising that spyware had been found, and directing me to another site to buy anti spyware software. Norton and AdAware couldn't see it. If you find this, see if you can find a tool called SmitFraudFix, follow the instructions, all better now.
  2. yonkis, attuworld, planetprocter, pronenmeer, fark, slashdot. By far, more than any other site, I'm using google. Except OFC, of course.
  3. I don't see the reason to wager the price of a couple of beers to see if my knot will hold on a fish that has taken me down to the backing. I fill the spool with pp, and then maybe switch ends after a coupla years. This works out to be the same cost as using filler, with no knots and good stuff right down to the tape covered spool. If you want to match your 20 lb pp to an equiv diameter mono, that means that you will be filling your spool with 5 or 6 lb test. Is that really the situation you want? I understand that if you are jigging walleye, or casting for bass, you might typically use less line, but for the downrigging, trolling, flatlining suff I do, there is no backing on my reels.
  4. Outdoor Canada and Ontario Out of Doors are my favourites, InFisherman is not too bad. EA has great content, but the writing and editing could be improved imo.
  5. Master of Bait, not to worry, but we all appreciate your attitude. It is not against the rules of this board to post oos fish pics. 'We would prefer that you don't', mainly because of this crap. On the other hand, this is always a good argument. No it's not, it's a discussion. It is not a discussion, very clearly an argument. Oh yeah? Well let's take this one outside, jerk. Want some, goof? Hilarity ensues.
  6. Shoal carp. And I apologize to the carp.
  7. Thanks, it has been a great day, starting with my office cube being festooned with balloons. Some great gifts from family including BPS top o line 100 mph gortex jacket and bibs, tix to see Russell Peters at the ACC in June, and two of his dvds. Add some phone calls from some old old friends (over 50 yrs old some of them), a great homemade pizza with my family, and a great thread from my friends at OFC. Yup, not shabby. Thanks.
  8. Lotsa weird folks in now, needing help from the normal people.
  9. BigCliff and Hookset, those two stories were funny right there. Thanks.
  10. Liking fish, me. Great shots, thank you, and welcome.
  11. Say after me, "OO WAH NEESH". See? It's easy 'n' it's fun!
  12. Gonna be a bunch o larnin goin on soon. I like this part.
  13. Watcha call yer climate change there. Or maybe just unusual.
  14. Lakers can be very old, as old as fifty or sixty years old in cold, northern lakes.
  15. My memory is just fine, and goes back at least that far. I don't remember.
  16. Thanks, Aaron. That was a great read.
  17. So, you're finally good at something at least. Congratulations Rick for a well earned win. Doubleyou tee jee.
  18. Easy. www.wholesalesports.com, or lebaron.com. I call em on the phone (after 6 pm) and then the gear shows up at my door in a couple of days, for 3 or $4. It's almost like magic. I recommend wholesalesports. Nice folks, no duty, and no pst in Alberta. Then next best thing to being there. You can also find lots of info about planer boards lying around.
  19. I saw these pics of a very wild-looking bass kinda fishy, WITH GREAT BIG TEETH! . What would a cutie like that one weigh? Here's the fly in details. Check out the gear that they suggest you bring - sounds like breakoffs are a bit of a problem. These fish were caught on the Congo River, second only to the Amazon in size, near Kinshassa. That's some heavy duty survival fishing there. You might need your own private security force to fish there. Solopaddler?
  20. HeyBud, thass way too much info right there, esp about the sweating part. Roy, nice job as always. And Granny sounds like a real cutup, good genes in that family. Like Roy sez, that's the sorta attitude that works. I'd be real careful with that keeper there. As for Roy's attitude, that's just wrong.
  21. Very nice, Roy. That J is a sweetie for sure. Happy Easter to you both.
  22. Makes me think of the sign on the side of hwy 69: "The Ultimate Feast - Do it yourself Pig Roast". If it were the ultimate, wouldn't you have somebody else do it?
  23. Attagirl, Carole. Have a great day!
  24. I could actually read that report without turning down the volume. I sorta like that, CC. Another stellar report, with great photos as usual. Thanks.
