  1. Just tie the line direct to the wire I think that was supposed to be the idea.
  2. Walleye love spinnerbaits, double willow white on white and chartruese.
  3. Looking forward to the show I just hope it`s on regular cable.
  4. Interesting comments on the Carp and weeds, when the Carp were dying off on Scugog I noticed the same thing no small fish they were all larger. And the weed is interesting as well this year on Scugog we have a real weed problem many of my good bass spot are so choked with milfoil they are inaccesible. The Nonquon river for example is usually difined by a healthy growth of reeds that creates a defined channel that leads to the river this year no reeds at all. I was talking to resident on Scugog and he figures the reason for the increased amount of weeds this year is because of the late freeze up and the lack of snow on the ice I don`t know if I buy that.
  5. Nice smallie I hope to catch a similar Simcoe smallie very soon.
  6. Try a battery operated aerator that may do the trick.
  7. On some topwaters you have to wait a second before you set the hook I know it`s hard to do because your first reaction is to set the hook when you see a strike but try and wait until you feel the weight of the fish beore setting the hook. As well if your using top water rats and such try opening up the hooks a bit this will help but these baits usually have a lower hook rate.
  8. My son and I were out on Scugog on Saturday and managed 4 Walleye and 4 incidental Musky and I think one of the Musky we caught twice none were as nice as your incidental. BTW we saw no floating Carp or aliens and there were lots of birds.
  9. Young and Rush are great talents, but I like Kim Mitchell imho he is a under rated talent.
  10. It`s in todays flyer 1/2 price 44.99
  11. I don`t belive so but it is private property.
  12. In todays CTC flyer sale starts tomorrow! I can`t post links that`s to high tech for me.
  13. Whatever to whoever!
  14. That would be something to see, there are probably huge Bass in Scugog on the right side of the causeway that have never seen a bait!
  15. I leave treated gas in the motor for the winter as per my owners manual.
  16. If they run out before you get there I will sell you mine, new never used.
  17. Just a heads up boys and girls Canadian Tire has a great deal on a Automatic battery charger 1/2 price.
  18. I have never used one before but I am curious what the bid price is and why for your first baitcaster you would pick that reel? It would not be my first choice.
  19. Yeah I hear ya I got blown off Simcoe a couple of weeks ago, I had planed to go to Simcoe again this Saturday with my boys but they are calling for high winds again all weekend and for me Simcoe + high winds = stay on Scugog.
  20. I am just posting what I observe some people like to stretch the truth and spread false information bad news is apparently more sexy, how many times have you seen a dead fish or bird in the water many times over the years I would suspect but now if someone see`s a dead bird or a dead rockbass on Scugog it makes the news papers and the 6 o`clock news. This past weekend I was out on the lake for a sunset cruise and noticed a dead Musky I pulled it in to have a look at it and saw no visible signs of disease the fish in all probability died from a bad release it is not the first time I have seen this and it won`t be the last, I am not even very comfortable even mentioning this because the next thing you know some idiot will start another rumor. It certainly does not help the situation when organizations like Bassmania decide to avoid Scugog (Goreskis)for this weekends event there is no reason what so ever that Scugog could not host the event. In there wisdom they have decided to have the event on Sturgeon this weekend instead. Good call boys. I hope when you call Ron at Goreski`s and ask if you can use our facilities in August he tells you to go jump in the lake,I don`t need a 100 Bass boat trucks and trailers tying up our ramp and parking spaces all day. Good luck on Sturgoen.
  21. Try a Shimano Sedona SE4000
  22. More speculation, there is some idiot posting on internet sites claiming that the situation is dire he is claiming that there are no birds going in the water and the seagulls have all gone his claim is complete rubbish. This past weekend I saw numerous gulls, ducks and large numbers of geese having a grand ole time on the water to say nothing of the beaver and other animals that live near the shore line. Enough already with the bullshet and speculation.
  23. Scugog Carp, just cut around the hemoraging disinfect with javex rinse in cool water and pop`er in the oven!
  24. Simcoe street near the fair grounds.
  25. I see that Bassmania has changed locations for the July 15th tournament from Scugog to Sturgeon I wonder if they are aware that Sturgeon is affected as well? Seems like a over reaction to me I have only seen 1 or 2 floaters on the Bog in the last couple of weeks.
