  1. For the salmon I like Cleos - blue/silver or green/silver.. Luhr Jensen Krokodile spoons, Williams Wobblers and Kwikfish. For the steelhead I'm a roe guy, I prefer brown or chinook roe bags this time of year.
  2. Sorry about your day. Maybe next time try your own spots.
  3. Spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits, spinnerbaits. Oh, don't forget the spinnerbaits.
  4. Targetting youth for their mind control. Very effective tactic. Worked well for Hitler.
  5. aww, link didn't work. Darn.
  6. "hiding" your kill seems to be more of an admission of guilt. Why would one have to feel guilty about hunting? There's a difference between air-drying your kill, and slamming a moose head on your hood like an idiot.
  7. Just like grouping all of Canada into one category too! Like the area around Toronto is all of Canada, lol In Nova Scotia you are allowed to cross any private property to fish, as long as it is not fenced off or you are interfering with farming of any sort. I believe the law only applies to residents of NS though.
  8. I gotta make it to Quinte one day and experience these big eyes. Looks like a blast.
  9. What a beauty! Congrats! One of many big ones to come for you by the sounds of it.
  10. Definitely not wasting your time there in the summer months. Unless of course you're after trout & salmon.
  11. Above the dam can be great if you know what you're doing. Takes a lot of practice on those waters to get them regularly, but once you know it, you'll always get them. The ever so faithful white jig/pink head right above the dam is a good start.
  12. Had a great time out at my not-so-secret honey hole with ya Arnaldo! Dozens of bass and deep water GOBIES sure is hard to beat, lol
  13. I find tracking bass is the same with or without the snow.
  14. The bay's max depth is 8 feet except the north channel which is a whopping 12 feet.
  15. Find a shallow, muddy creek and let a worm lay on bottom. You should have a couple dozen in no time. If you're really strapped, I'll tell ya the Grand River has them everywhere. Worms on bottom.
  16. Great report as always Glen, that has to be the biggest spotted bass I've ever seen. And might I add - OUCH to the treble. I think we've all been there!
  17. Nice work on the perch! Chickenhawk, Ryerse and Normandale are not too great right now, the smallies are in the area though as well as some chrome surprises.
  18. LOL! Post of the year! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
  19. Nothin' like a good feed of fresh perch! Hamilton's panfish are plenty safe to eat, in small doses.
  20. I hope with this build-up, one of you will post some sort of report!
  21. Awesome report man, sorry I couldn't make it out.. I was at my other home - work! Looks like you had a great time anyway!
  22. Actually, the BPS ones the smaller blade is held on with a bent wire, rather than a proper metal clevis with pinholes drilled in it. As a result, the wire easily bends open and the blades fly off. I've spinnerbaited smallies for 15 years of my life and these are the only spinnerbaits it has happened to. Cheap crap.
  23. Dang, wish this was posted sooner. I wrote this week's schedule, could have booked it off. Good luck to all of those who head out! Smallie action is intense right now, should be some heavy weights for the winner.
  24. Good ones! Was Fort Erie really that rough? We had maybe 3 footers in the afternoon but nothing too bad. We found some fish yesterday as well. Never nailed any 4+ but a couple were pushing 3 anyway. We made up for it in numbers.. no idea how many we caught, my arms hurt from catching so many. They were hitting minnow imitations, 3" crawfish tubes, random crankbaits and even got a few on my beloved spinnerbaits.
  25. I don't often fish alone in the boat because well, it pretty much takes two to launch mine. I also get bored fishing alone. I'm good for a couple hours then usually go in. As for safety, never worried much. I keep a cell phone in a Ziploc bag to prevent it from getting waterlogged and not working, and if the water's looking treacherous I'll gladly put on the PFD.
