Yea, then you can ONLY take backcountry trips.. because half the time you will fear using your canoe on any real water.. -

Zodiacs are expensive man! Better off opting for the 12' aluminum. There are a lot of good deals out there on small boats like that if you keep your eyes open. A decent aluminum boat and small motor will take a beating and work for years. -
Took my neice Katie and my nephew Isaiah out to a local pond for a couple hours today to get some fish. Both the kids had a blast playing with the sunfish and although he wouldn't hold it for a picture Isaiah also caught his first largemouth. By the end of the trip Isaiah was the only one that didn't want to leave.. but I heard "one more fish" too many times.. food called to me. lol Good times with family.

Oh dear.. here comes the flood of steelhead reports, and the fighting that ensues!
-
You spent too much on the gear, to catch the fish.. that you are unable to fish.. Ain't that the truth about fishin!
-
I think topwater is my most productive way of bass fishing.. in the summer anyway
-
Jesus Glen, I think you've been livin' in the swamps too long!

Gotta love the idiots who videotape their crime sprees.. then post them for the general public to view. LOL Everyone knows you keep your crime sprees secret.

easy to say when you don't know the situation at hand

Or you could just buy a boat.

On another note.. take the plastic off your rod handle dude! lol

I believe the metal clips are to tie your line to when the pole is not in use. My dad has a 14 footer I don't think he ever used it though.
-
Good luck dude! Looking forward to the report when you return.

Looks like it could have been pretty close to a 2 pounder

Trailer Park Boys!

Yea, lay a tape measure on the ground next time.. sure it might not show weight but people know a 20 - 22" bass is a BIG fish!

My child has been taken with his mother to Nova Scotia so I'm missing his life anyway... NOT my choice.

I love Ontario. I've travelled the world in my lifetime and nothing has ever felt as much like home as Ontario. I also love what I do. I'm a meat cutter by trade. I was called at work and asked to do what I do in Bermuda for 3 years. Being a young single guy, everybody is telling me to GO FOR IT.. I have a weird feeling about it. Maybe just scared of change, I don't know. Basically I'd make the same money I make here, only in US dollars and wayyyyy less tax. Also new fishing opportunities.. all saltwater stuff. Which would be cool, but I don't know how long I'd live without bass and musky. lol Benefits, vacation, would all be the same. I just don't know what to do! What would you do?

I'd pretty much live and die in my 14 footer. I don't know if I'll ever "upgrade" to anything bigger. It handles everything pretty well .. since I'm not really a deep water trolling type of guy it works just great. If there's relatively easy access to the pond I'm fishing, I'd much rather throw the tinny in. However for those hard to reach places where you gotta carry or drag the boat quite a ways, the 9 footer is best. Actually thinking about getting a flat back canoe instead of the bass hound though. Or keeping all 3 boats. lol

That's my other boat MTP.. 9' "Bass Hound". And yes the Filth Hound is still alive and well. Actually I got a trailer for it now. Just a little tougher to launch the aluminum than the bass hound... and the 14 footer isn't really necessary for the lake we were fishing (really more of a pond). There was some lightning but nothing too bad. And I'm known for demolishing two Classic triple combos in a sitting! LOL I was takin' it easy today!

Headed out today knowing full well what we were about to fish in. It was POURING rain, it couldn't have possibly been raining any harder. Backing up to the launch we couldn't see out the windshield of the truck. Soaked the second the doors were open. BAM! The boat was in the water and we were fishing. There was wind, tons of rain and thunder, some lightning... we pounded the lake to death and caught a lot of small bass. One encounter with a maybe 3.5lber on a buzzbait and a small pike but no huge fish to be in awe of today. As luck would have it the only time it wasn't raining that I caught a bass was when I caught my smallest of the day so that was the only pic I got. Buddy Sean got a little better one pic'd. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and grubs were the weapons of choice. I can't believe anyone would sit inside looking out at that rain coming down. That makes me run to the lake! And to end it.. the evening turned out pretty nice actually. A good foot of water after 20 min of rain in the bottom of the Bass Hound I did catch some better ones than THIS, lol in the heavy rain though so I didn't want to get the camera out Sean's 2 pounder which was probably the big fish of the day A decent sunset over the lake So worn out and hungry after... demolished a Wendy's classic triple combo and a spicy chicken on the side! lol Awesome afternoon on the water. I love it!

Had a couple cubans my parents brought back from Cuba.. they were great cigars. Worth paying insane money for? I don't think so.. just as happy with a Perfecto once in a while!
