  1. I'm an old geezer I never switched to metric
  2. Just hit 50 F at 10 pm, going to be picking nightcrawlers in January soon. Edit: up to 53F when we got up at 7am and it rained most of the night, only ice in Niagara will be in my Forty Creek today.
  3. 43 F here tonight , windy and raining
  4. Maybe it's because I have spent a lot of long days trolling Lake Erie and Ontario, but if you are doing that much trolling wouldn't a small gas kicker make more sense?
  5. Depressing night for TO sports fans, Raptors stole a page from the Leafs playbook as well, squandered a 19 point lead for an OTL.
  6. Where's Matt?? Leafs and Sens tied for second place at 44 points. " Movin on Up "
  7. Junior game is just like watching the Leafs
  8. I had something come in the mail about health care, seemed to be a third party research thing saying they were Goverment affiliated , I shredded it and haven't heard any more unless it was one of those survey phone calls I hang up on. Wife got one too, she's a US Citizen but they put her on the voting list every election, mess is modus operandi for the government.
  9. this X2 , even with our 25/5 fibre service it makes a difference.
  10. unreal showman, I get tired watching him
  11. You don't see the opponent score 2 with an empty net in the last 2 minutes of a game very often Kinda sticks in your mind. I've found several good streams for sports on the TSN and the SNET channels on several Kodi addons, the saturday CBC games are a a bit tricky, sometimes you have to settle for an American Channel aimed at the visiting team market if they are in TO.
  12. Hopefully they have the overtime loss monkey off their back now, not that they should have get in that situation if the first place, been some defensive lapses in the third with a lead Really only Montreal has fewer regular time losses in the Atlantic Division. " Movin' on Up "
  13. Maybe if we tax it we can get it to stop
  14. Just had a flashback to game 7 of the Boston Leafs playoff series.
  15. You got me thinking and I found an early Shimano Bantam 1000 SG Tournament with the paddle style handles squirreled away in the basement. Bought it around 1980 , still in the original box with the little bottle of oil, a few extra parts and a little wench, I was big on salmon and steelhead and had plans but it was too tiny and didn't have enough line capacity, the ultra thin super braids of today were not an option then. Beautiful tiny thing, now what to do with it ?
  16. Sept 1969, first year at university, bought a electric tea kettle there and flip flop manual toaster there for my dorm room, had to have toast and coffee in the morning or late night studying. On the way home you could stop at the Brunny for a beer or 2 , it's gone now too.
  17. I like walnut and blued steel on my firearms and good cork and simple windings on my fishing rods but whatever turns your crank , the craftsmanship and quality looks great , not Bubba'ed
  18. I wouldn't trade my late 80's vintage Loomis float rods for anything on the market today, that being said there has been a great improvement in what I would call middle priced rods, those around a hundred bucks or so.
  19. Think I saw a guy using one of those lures for Chinook in the Credit last fall
  20. Andersen has been solid in goal lately and an overtime shootout win was a nice change .
  21. I had Shimano gearing on a ten speed I bought in 72, I don't recall any fishing gear with their brand on it at that time.
  22. 1968 and I can appreciate this more today than I did as an 18 year old teen, still got the album.
  23. From that awesome decade of music 1965 to 75, Jimi was a consummate bluesman as well
  24. Might be a little late Wynne has got him tied up
