Stopped by to check out the new tackle shop today at noon. Looks good. Lots of space to move around. Picked up some of the new Fireline Crystal as well as 20 1/8oz chartruese jig heads. Also bought a titanium spinnerbait for my buddy who lost his last year. Good mix of tackle from musky believers to fly tying material. It should do well in that location, right next to the beerstore.

Here's a tip for you, don't eat anything you catch in Lake Ontario. I've only caught 5 chinook from Lake O and 2 were horribly deformed.

That is some beautiful country up there. Wish I could get back up that way again. Don't forget to check out Echo Beach on the north east shore of Round lake. Echo beach, far away, anytime...Martha & the Muffins.

Domi's retired, Belak's not dressed and they couldn't persuade Roberts to come back. Maybe Gill should have sat on him. You have a team of pansies and the opposition knows it and will take advantage. It was a cheap shot but Kaberle has to pay attention and stop admiring his pretty passes. Watch how much more confident Crosby, Malkin & Staal play now that Roberts and Laroque are in their line-up. Don't blame Janssen, blame the Leafs upper management.

I used to camp at a private campground in between Round & Golden lakes. I found the best fishing was in the Bonnechere river between these lakes. Fish below the Tramore Dam or Tramore bridge for walleyes when season first opens. You can also fish the old Deacon bridge closer to Golden lake for pike and bass.

BRAVO! Congrats on the Silver Medal

The only hope for the Leafs is when Joe Thornton becomes UFA. He wouldn't sign a deal past his UFA date with the Bruins so they traded him before they lost him for nothing. He intends to go to Toronto July 1/08. You will probably see Sundin traded at next years trade deadline to make room for Joe. The only problem is Joe is inconsistant and a bit of a prima donna. He'll get league maximum from the Leafs who'll then have to move 2 of their 3 $5million defencemen just to afford him. Then they'll need to get some pure goal scorers to convert Joe's passes into the net. At least with Pogge they have a goalie for the future.

No worries, Captain Canada will still be available for the world championships as the NYI won't make the dance. If they luck out they'll still go out first round. If Miller goes down now the Sabres will be toast. Big mistake giving up Biron. Bertuzzi will be no help to the wings, he's no Shanahan. Guerin will make the Sharks a more dangerous fish. Forsberg in Nashville will be the biggest help to his new team.

One night at the old LULU's bar in Kitchener I met both Eddie shack & John Candy. Man Candy was a big, big man. In Athens Georgia I met Michael Stipe and Peter Buck of REM. They had just finished recording "Out of Time" and were hangin out at Buck's wife's bar, the 40 watt club. It was called that because the only light in the place was a 40 watt bulb hanging from a wire in the center of the ceiling.

I know we have a great number of bird lovers in this community. My friend took this photo outside her front window on Saturday after this hawk chased away the sparrows living in the yard. Her sons are 5 & 7 and wanted to know what kind of hawk it was. It was the same size as a crow. I am not that knowledgable in bird species so I'm reaching out to all OFC'ers for the answer. Thanks for any help

Elephant Lake Lodge gets my vote as well. We used to have our annual musky weekend at Elephant every year. From 1991 until 2000 we always caught muskies and had some large bass as incidental catches. In 2002 we caught nothing but pike and we had never caught one there before. I've found the sandy south end to be the best for producing huge smallies and the cabbage between the rock face and the island produces some big largies. The Lodge owners are very helpful and they have a nice little restaurant and bar with a pool table to relax and wind down the day. We have never caught walleye there but usually we didn't really pursue them with any vigor. There's a small beach and a nine hole golf course if others in your party aren't as hardcore in the fishing department as you are.

Go for the variable speed control model rather than the one with 5 forward speeds and 3 reverse. It's much nicer to dial in the exact speed you need to control a drift or fight a current. It almost doubles the price but it's worth it in my opinion.

For an ultra-lite I use a 5.5' Berkley Lightning rod with a Shimano Stradic and 4lb trilene. For musky I use a 7' Berkley Gorilla stick with an Abu 5600C4 and 65lb Power Pro. In between I have all kinds of rods and reels, mostly spinning, spooled with 14lb Fireline.

Welcome to the board, Spook. Tell us a little about yourself. Where you are from, what kind of fishing you do, what kind of boat you have or if you are a shore fisherman. Throw in a couple of photos (we like lots of pics here) of your big catches and I'm sure you'll receive lots of replies. As for me, I'm more familiar with Elephant lake than Baptiste. If you intend to travel over to Elephant, I can give you some spots for pike and bass. I never did have any luck with the walleye in that system.

Here is a pic I found this morning on myfishingpictures.com. He must have the strongest transom ever made.

You had me worried there for a minute. I thought you had been ice fishing at Sturgeon lake in the Kawarthas.

What's the best provincial park in east central Ontario
jediangler replied to kennyman's topic in General Discussion
Emily Provincial park is at the south end of Pigeon lake. Great camping and fishing for largemouth bass with a good chance at a small musky or maybe even a walleye. Not as much boat traffic as the farther north part of the lake. A canoe or kayak is all you need to fish this area. -
Generals/Bulls (OHL) so, I guess it's NF

Great pics Bill. Haven't been to an OHL game this year yet. It's getting even harder, if that's possible, to get tickets for the Rangers here in Ktchener now that they have Downie. It's seems every game is sold out. Hope they can make a long run into the play-offs this year. -
The painted jig heads that they make really suck. The paint just flakes off in big chunks whenever you come into contact with a rock. The lures seem OK so far.

The best part of NASCAR? It has the shortest off-season!

Is it true that the Toyota Camry is the only car made in the U.S.? The others being made in Canada and Mexico. -
All the fish I catch are on artificials, as that is all I use. This one might be the most surprising although I'm sure some guys (Ohio Fisherman) have done it as well.

Can't wait to check them out. We need some alternative choices now that Rainbow Tackle is gone.

I saw Black Sabbath at the Aud in Kitchener w/Dio touring for the "Mob Rules" album. They did some "Heaven and Hell" tunes then. What I remember most was that we booed the opener off the stage after 3 songs. Some band called Wrabit, the album was "Wrough & Wready". Brutal, just brutal. Seen the "Blizzard of Oz" tour w/Randy Rhoades at the Center in the Square in Kitchener. Ozzy was not at his best that night but getting to see RR play guitar was worth the price of admission. I wish I could have seen the band back in the early years. Have fun, dust off your black leather jacket, and headbang away.

1st attempt of nature photo's with new cam nf

Nice pics. I like the icicles best. Try that scene, or a similar one, with some direct sunlight. Maybe early in the day or as the sun sets. Light is the paint of your photographs. Sometimes the difference ten minutes makes can turn an ordinary shot into a beauty. -
Mepps Musky killer, gold blade & black bucktail. Rapala J-13 jointed orange. Both available at any Canadian Tire store.
