Burke will sign his buddy Bertuzzi. Big, tough and past his prime. Just how Burke likes them.
-
Great to see the dynamic duo together again, fighting fish and killing Gobies.

Nice one joonmoon. That crappie will be tasty I'm sure. Don't give up yet Dizzidevil, next time out you might get two or three musky. That's just the way it goes in musky hunting. Glad to hear you got soaked joonmoon . Didn't you learn anything from your big brother's mistakes .

Beauty bull bluegill man. That's a real slab. Congrats.

First, sharpen those hooks till they are sticky sharp. If you place the hook point on your thumbnail, you should not be able to slide it around. Not doing anything when you hear or see the hit is the hardest part. Let the hooks do the work. Keep the rod low and pointed at the bait. When you feel the weight of the fish, then you can raise your rod and bury the hooks. Then try to horse it out of the slop before it tangles you up and gets off. It's still the most fun way to fish for bass but it takes some practice. Good luck and don't give up.

Nice work rico, at least you got out early. I tried spinnerbaits for awhile on Thursday but had no hits and went back to the bucktail. I'm surprised you didn't get a musky or a walleye on that bait.

Nice ski Bro and way to get some bass on the opener Goog.

Congrats on a beauty pike AA.

Thanks all. Good luck joonmoon and frozen-fire on your bass opener trips. I likely will wait and go during the week sometime. I found the spot you told me about joon, but it was a bit of a paddle from the launch. There were some rocks as big as volkswagens in there.

LEAFS NEWS~ Tomas Kaberle Trade!
jediangler replied to crappyfisherman's topic in General Discussion
He's probably going to Atlanta for their 4th overall pick. -
Took my first kayak trip to Scugog today. I've fished the Bog before with my Sportspal and in a friend's big Lund. I figured today's conditions would be good enough for my first yak attempt. Tried a section of the lake I have never fished and launched at 12:30pm. Would have liked to get out earlier but had to take the little one to school first. Wind was light and I could see some nasty weather off in the distance. Around 2pm I began to hear thunder but the clouds still looked far from my location. Followed brother Joonmoon's directions to a good panfish spot where I hoped to get into some crappie. Caught a WGSF and two big bluegill and then the wind changed direction and picked up speed. Lucky for me it was blowing back to where I had launched from. I put on a big Mepps giant killer bucktail and started casting for muskies while I drifted. Just before 3pm I hooked this guy. It was 18" long and much lighter in colour than the one I caught at Sturgeon a couple of weeks ago. During two musky outings this year I've caught two muskies and two walleyes on big bucktails. Got this pic just before he took off during the release. Also found a clown x-rap snagged on some weeds right below the surface. Still had a leader attached and must have been lost recently as the hooks were still in perfect condition. BONUS! Called it a day at 3:30pm, knowing I would see some heavy traffic on the highway driving home. Never did see any rain until about halfway between Milton and Guelph on my way home. Only saw one other boat and it was so far off I could barely see it. That's the beauty of weekday outings on a lake like Scugog. Next time I'll find those muskies .

Not a great stat, I agree. But still the most wins all-time for a Leaf goaltender. What does that say?

I know some kayak fishermen that have been catching them on the Detroit river. Flyfishermen catch them on flies with nylon string frayed to tangle their teeth instead of hooking them. Try a small treble as a trailer about 2" behind your rapala. In the southern U.S. they bowhunt for them.

Rask played one game in the NHL last year, he won, with a shutout. The Bruin tandem of Fernandez and Thomas won the Jennings trophy for least goals against and Thomas won the Vezina trophy with the best GA and save percentage. Next year he will be back up to Thomas and get 20 starts at least. Probably he'll play all eight games against the Leafs. That should help his GA. Raycoft does hold the Leafs record for most wins in a season, tied with Belfour I believe.

Jedidiah Ivan Anglerovski, aka jediangler.

Remember this is the same scouting staff that picked Tlusty and Kulemin before Boston drafted Lucic. Rask should be their goalie of the future. Oh ya, I forgot, they traded him to Boston for Raycroft. They will remain the Maple laughs until they get some Canadians running the show. They should have signed Neiuwendyk as their G.M.

Ski Hill rd. I believe. It's just a portion of the Pigeon river that is seperated by a dam in town. The road runs from Bethany to Omemee.
-
They will probably draft brother Schenn and then a bunch of kids that will never make it out of the AHL. Burke's a moron, not a hockey genius. He probably will go after the Sedin twins and possibly Pronger. Neither will help them make the playoffs. Leaf fans will be calling for his head by the end of the year.

Island Lake Conservation Area / Orangeville Resevoir
jediangler replied to MSBruno's topic in General Discussion
Use your map to try and find the old original river channel. It's kind of tough without a fishfinder, but pretty much where the weeds stop growing because it's too deep. Fish those last weeds on either side of the old river with small jigs in 1/16oz size with grubs for perch and crappie. I like using sluggos between the islands on the way back to the deep water area for bass. The pike will find you. -
I'll be at Ashtabula for two weeks at the end of July. As a family we've been going there since 2004. Do a musky hunt there with the boys every September since 2001. I'll have my kayak and one the rentals for both weeks. Maybe see you up there.

Great magazine. Fellow OFC'er crazyhook and I appear on pages 12 and 13 in the CPR section. They showcase 15 kayak anglers and their catch and release photos from all over North America. Jamie, Marco and I were the only Canadians to make the grade.

Singing National Anthem every morning in NB schools
jediangler replied to holdfast's topic in General Discussion
Still singing it every morning here in Kitchener, according to my 8yr old. -
Nice one. I wouldn't be dissappointed. Nice release shot too.

Nice Father's Day report and pics. I'll have to get up to the Bog soon, maybe this week.
