I like the Bonnechere river between Round and Golden lakes myself. Take a drive to Deacon bridge near Golden lake or Tramore bridge closer to Round lake. You can launch a boat at either spot, the launch is better at Deacon, and fish for walleye, pike or bass.

I'd buy a Curado.

Make sure to obey all the special regulations in that area. Some sections of river are no live bait, one barbless hook per lure and catch & release only. If you fish right in the park itself, then none of these regs apply. I've had luck for browns with panther-marten spinners in gold blade, black body colours.

We've caught muskies in Jack lake on bucktails, rapala super shads, husky jerks and wally divers.

I'll only use an electric on bigger hooks, most of the time my small stone does the trick.

Go south to Lake Eugenia. There are some smallmouth but mostly largemouth. Lots of perch and rockbass as well.

I was wondering the same thing. With the winds being projected to be light I was thinking of taking the kayak out for an attempt at the mouth of Bronte creek.

When you buy Blue Fox spinners now they come with a treble and a single hook. I would suggest sharpening the hooks, right out of the package they are not sharp enough.

Come on GCD, they're consenting adults. I like to check it daily to see what kind of fish are being caught all over the world. Usually between 36 and 50 pics a day go up. That's good fish porn.

Great job on your first musky frozen-fire. I'm glad my old Sportspal is out on the water catching fish instead of hanging from the roof of my Dad's garage. Did you get a measurement on it? Looks pretty good sized for a first ski.

Nice bass frozen-fire. I'm with your girlfriend on the bass fishing, more of a fan of pike and crappie. Musky is still #1 with me though. Congrats on getting a musky on Scugog. I must have been at the cottage when you caught it and missed the report. Looks like you had very calm conditions for Rice.

Nice fish, I actually find topwater fishing at night to be easier than during the day. I use black jitterbugs at night and just use hearing instead of sight. Pop, pop, pop, pop, ...splush. Congrats on a beauty smallie.

I stayed at Triple "T" Cedars cottages for a week 10yrs ago. It's on the other side of the bridge from EmilyPP. We did well throwing only spinnerbaits in the 1/4oz and 3/8oz sizes. Four of us landed 42 bass, 9 muskies & 4 walleyes during that week. A good spot is just outside the swimming area rope at Triple "T" Cedars, and farther north, the floating sign at Fee's Landing. On a canoe day trip I caught a musky in the bay right across from the beach on a white spinnerbait.

If it isn't catching you any fish, you slam it on the water a few times to "wake" it up. Then threaten to put it back in the tackle box unless it starts to produce. All lures are claustraphobic...and afraid of the dark.
