  1. So you boil till they are milky outside and orange inside... Then scoop em into oils of choice... What's the end result like?? Firm centers? Or do they pop when a hook touches them? I'm assuming they are firm... And when you have the boiled eggs in the jar... Do you refridgerate? Freeze? Neither? Shelf life?
  2. So you literally boil your salmon eggs? Please explain... I've tried different egg cures but wasn't impressed with the end result...
  3. So if I'm at a pool with fish in it... How long or how many drifts do you give a presentation before changing up... Like if I have a pool with 10 steelhead in it to myself... Do you "run and gun" threw your presentations... Like no hit in 10-20 minutes change up?
  4. How do you determine wich presentation you use on a given day? River? Or pool?
  5. I'm looking to do some float fishing for steelhead this fall/winter/spring... Over the last 2 years I've researched artificials for steelhead and people seem to be doing well on these options... I have Wooly buggers in pink, olive, and black Steelhead jigs in pink, purple, and orange Trout beads Soft artificial eggs 6&8 mm in tangerine color And pink berkley worms... I think I have a good selection But how to use thus stuff?... And dose this stuff work? Do I add scent? Am I wasting my $$$ on this artificial stuff? Like I said... I primarily would like to float fish for these trout... But I find roe a pain in the rear end... And would like to avoid harvesting fish for their eggs... Thnx Mike
  6. I didn't end up bringing my tackle... I decided 1 weekend without fishing would make the misses happy... But I did hit up some local tackle shops for some new toys...
  7. How big is your friend? Lol Seriously... I'm 6 foot 4 inches 275lbs... So my fish look smaller in pics...
  8. 60lb nylon coated wire with a single 4/o-8/o octopus hook... slip sinker... 8-12 inch sucker hooked threw the nose...... basicaly a lindy rig for musky...
  9. well the bigger one weighed 30 pounds.... so 48 is a good estimate for length.... if it was 42 itwould have been shaped like a carp... but i wasnt there for the musky so i cant say for sure...
  10. it just looks like a creature bait to me.... or a crab for saltwater...
  11. well my dad and brother got out yesterday for some live bait musky... and they were on... first drift they boated 2 musky... one was a pig... no tape but im thinking a solid 48+ then i got home from my trip to guelph around 4 pm and unpacked as quick as i could... called my brother... packed my boat and we were off for some evening eyes... and what a night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in 4-5 hours of fishing we boated 20 walleye from 2-9 pounds... the highlight of the night were 2 beasts at 27 and 29 inches... as well as an epic battle with what i THOUGHT was my soon to be pb walleye of my life... a damn sheephead over 10 pounds this thing was peeling line like crazy.... oh well...
  12. nice ski... big head... itll be heavy when it plumps up this fall
  13. nice to see your efforts were rewarded... not a lot of people would change lakes mid day... that takes determination.... good for you guys...
  14. I know with home made trailers... You stamp the vin # on the trailer... Maybe with the brand match and a stamped vin you'll be alright...
  15. I try to do chores before fishing... It motivates me to finish my to-do list without procrastination... Then I have loads of time to fish... As for this "fishing addiction" There are PLENTY of worse things in the world to be addicted to....
  16. Well i guess black perch did that this year... Everyone told me it worked... So I bought lures I liked in that color and got musky on em... But I was pretty confident they would work... I trust the people that give me info...
  17. I don't understand why anybody would buy a lure they have no confidence in... When I buy lures... I'm 95% sure I can catch fish on em... Maybe not pound... But catch something...
