  1. That's when I use the spro rings... And I second the split ring pliers... Very very useful tool...
  2. Nice My little fella does the same to me... 3 months old... How old is Lilly?
  3. Not sure what you mean by tapered rings... But I've replaced my split rings with wolverine heavy duty rings... And have tried spro rings as well... But they are way more expensive...
  4. Neat trick... If your running salty rod holders... You can hang your net on the salty around the yoke section ... Works really well...
  5. Care to explain... I'd like to know why you think float fishing salmon is the same as snagging...? Really? I'm curious?
  6. I have a 16 foot riveted aluminum boat on a roller trailer... Love it No dents I can launch in a foot of water... Only downside in my opinion... Rollers are tricky to launch by yourself... Because the boat doesnt stay put... But I've learnt to overcome this obstical... Edit My boat is 14 years old...
  7. How do you guys choose wich Chanel to fish suspended eyes ??? Do you just drive around till you mark em on you sonar...? Or did you stumble into these suspended fish like I have this week...?
  8. Usually I end up cutting hooks... More so on small fish cause they tend to get hooked bad... 25 vmc 4x strong hooks are about $15 I keep a 25 pack of 4/o and 5/o hooks in my box...
  9. Had a close encounter with a boat running cigarettes last night... Heard him coming so I turned my lights on... He then did a doughnut around my boat with a spotlight on me... I figured he was heading back for another load and was checking if I was a cop...
  10. No The boga gets your hand very very close to the mouth and lure before the fish is under control... In a net the fish is a lot more under control before your hands go anywhere near the fish... The only bad injury I have heard of between a handful of serious musky guys i know is when my dad used the boga on a 40lb + musky... It was in the garbage the next day... Some people use them to handle fish after they are netted and the hooks are removed... I like this idea cause if the fish rolls... The boga swivels... Nobody gets hurt... I dont think the video is misleading at all... I think it's an eye opener to what can happen without proper equipment and techniques... This is my opinion... Nobody have a hissy fit this time please... I'm only stating my opinion and reinforcing my previous post... That is all...
  11. I used to floss em till I found out what I was actually doing.... So last year I tried skien under a float and landed 3 out of 4 in a couple hours... Way more fun watching the float drop... And I believe this is a legit way to get em...
  12. Fish calendar... It's like 4-5 bucks but it's usually bang on for feeding windows...
  13. Back in the day I used to gaff my musky and put em on the painted floor of my boat all the time... But like you said... We all learn over time...
  14. My first was bass fishing... Maybe 18 inches...lol

  16. Not sure what the "pressure" was last night but according to moon phase... Yesterday should have sucked for fishing... I boated 19 walleye and a big smallie in 5 hours... So these moon and pressure patterns arnt written in stone.... But if I'm planning a trip... I follow moon phase... Cause really... What else can you time a fishing trip with...
  17. Marked a lay down tree with down imaging last night...
  18. I was backing up matt... His fish isnt on carpet...
  19. Hey matt... Is the musky laying on carpet or vinyl...?
  20. Um... No it's not... You can tell... It's a different shade... Ask the op... Then well see... A lot of boats have carpet everywhere but the main floor...
  21. they kinda concentrate on the rock coming off the point as well as the next point east... ive seen em in less then 1 foot of water... ive also pointed my light in water...and it looked like somebody threw a roll of quarters in the water... so many eyes... but tough to catch...
  22. ive caught them around the island in front of my point where our boathouses are in 5 feet of water... but its not exactly a solid pattern... but i did win a tourney there one time... the tourney started at 12am till 2pm... i couldnt sleep... so i did some doghnuts around the island with floating rapalas... got some fish... and when we got up in the morning... it was blowing 30-40mph all day... only 2 boats weighed in fish....
