You ever cut them open and see what they have been eating. I know not much but there could be a small fish in there.

It doesn’t make sense to poison a lake to kill mosquitoes unless they had some west Nile or something. I guess with the mnr anything is possible. Should be lots of dead fish floating around.

Slow speed (1.5mph) lake trout lure. j plug vs flatfish ? Any other body baits ?

I’m going to be pulling my boat up on shore with sharp rocks about 2” dia. many ideas to protect the paint? lay down a carpet?

We didn’t get to use any flies this trip. I caught my fish on a (basement bait) I had custom made for st clair though. I always enjoy custom lures.

Quick trip to st clair as the winds looked good. Bimini made it possible 30* and full sun. All trolling , too hot to cast. 2/2 and great boat rides. Didn’t put many hours in. Just nice to get out.

I really liked the engines in the ones I had.

I’m thinking about mounting the fish finder closer to my eyes while I’m driving the boat. The top of the console is too far away. It doesn’t make sense to have to lean in to press buttons. ram mounts? Or ? thanks for any help.

I think the console will be better if i build it because I’ll get what I want. the steering system i posted is ok $ wise if it works good. the pedestals are about 100 each but I should be able to find them. just starting on the foam now.

Steering cable is no good. So I’m going to get the one I posted. I can’t find a console under 600 so I’m going to build one. I need two seat pedestals some plywood and foam.

Pretty smoky so I picked up a furnace filter for smoke and am leaving the furnace on. I hope that helps. cheaper then buying a room filter.

Is a quicksilver steering system any good? It is stuck. Is it worth while to unstick it? Can I get it working good again? I see new steering wheel and cable is about $300. also I want a new console. The one I’m using is too small. Store bought look to be about $500. it would be nice to have aluminum. But it would be easier to build out of wood. I plan on putting a glove box in it. I wonder if boat recyclers would have what I need. Any thoughts welcome.

Don’t know why it has two hp ratings. nice looking boat though. It will bounce more because it doesn’t weigh much or have a floor.

I believe small boats have a weight of boat to surface area on the water sweet spot. Light boat and big area is unstable. Too much weight and the boat rides low and is hard to push. say a car topper with a 5hp VS a heavy 12’ with a15hp. The car topper is too small you can no longer stand up and walk around. A boat you can walk around in will be heavy enough that you need a trailer. The transom width is not the deciding factor. so I would look for 400lb or more boat weight so I can walk around. or you are sitting all the time. if you plan on sitting all the time then look for a solid 12’. A deep one but average surface area on the water will be best.

When navigating bottleneck areas stay under control with some power and keep straight. Or turn right for rocks.

I put led lights on about 15y ago and I don’t unplug them when launching and never a problem.

Go fish. the world record has been screwed up really badly. How does someone catch it and make it indisputable. I’ve fished the land of the giants and the plan was to take a picture and let it go.
