Brian i have tried everything. Tomcat i want to join the main line to a fluoro leader. I tried the double uni already. I will try it again. Maybe the 6lb fluoro is weak or something. I got six hours of trying in so far but i am running out of beer so i may have to give up till tomorrow. What a pain. I have never had any trouble with 6lb mono. It is like it is cutting into itself. Stupid line.

It is braking right at the knot. I have one leader tied now with the braid knot. I think it is a waste of time with 6lb.

I tried the polymer knot and it failed. I will try the surgeon. Thanks.

I am trying to use some 6lb seaguar fluoro leaders but i cant find a knot that will hold. i have tried many. Any thoughts on a good knot or anything i can try. I tried to use a swivel between the main line and the fluoro but that knot broke too. I was thinking maybe i should try 10lb fluoro but would 10lb fluoro be more invisible than 6lb mono??? I see no use for the 6lb fluoro the way this is going. I need a beer. Thanks for any help.

Great report Doug. They should be telling you all the costs upfront. That makes me sick.

Any lake that you can trailer a boat to is fished hard. If you disagree please PM me the name of the lake so i can confirm that you are right. Some of the fly in lakes are not that good anymore. The best fishing right now is Lake Ontario salmon.

The way the skies look there is a chance of lightning every day. I got caught in a storm with the boat on tuesday it was real bad and i couldnt fish after i drove 2 hrs to the lake.

Do you have an owners manual for the motor? Follow there instructions to the letter. I just got a new motor and they said to change the engine oil and gear oil after 20hours. I thought 20hours how dirty can it be? Well i pulled the dipstick and the oil looked little dirty. So i drained it and it was real dirty and so was the gear oil. Must have something to do with the brake in of a new motor.

I heard that VHS may be what is killing the carp in Scugog. The use of affected bait fish may put VHS in other lakes. I want to make some catfish bait and i don't want to transfer the VHS. Does dead bait fish still carry VHS??? What if i salt it or freeze it??? Thanks for any help.

Short shafts are good for car toppers. If you are going to have a trailer i would go for a long shaft. "Is there an advantage to the lower transom in terms of being able to fish over it?" No. Short shafts are cheaper. Long shafts are better.
