I’ve never seen the gold ones with the quick adjust before. They only had two or I would have got four of those. You just pull to the side and tilt. I think I’ll put them on my side.

I wanted some more rod holders so I got four but they didn’t have a base. I remembered Misfish saying to try metal supermarket so I ordered there. They cut to the lengths I needed. I got 2 at 1/4”x3” 8” long and I got 4”sq and 3/8” thick to make the hard to find big Jon Downrigger base. They can mount offset so they clear my Bimini when stowed.

I’m going to try to make it to the perch fest. then maybe small lake for lake trout. then Erie for eyes. st Clair for Muskie. GB for salmon and rainbow. Then small lake north for whatever bites. that’s all I have so far. I’ve bought a bunch of gear. Hope to get a second boat too.

Makes you wonder what people did before all the gear was invented. lol.

I’m planning on Only 2 people casting and three people trolling. the main thing I was thinking about was if I need a kicker in any of my trolling presentations.

All good info thanks. part of the problem is I fish for so many different species perch, bass, pickerel, pike, crappie, Muskie, lake trout, rainbow trout ,salmon and brook trout. having the right gear for all of it is a challenge. hopefully I can find a boat I like.

Your 90hp will get down to 2.2 mph. That’s good to know. it would be nice to get slow enough without a drift sock.

I’m thinking about getting an another boat. 16’ to 19’ without a kicker. 75 hp to 90hp main. low rpm cruise speed about 20mph. I’m not concerned about top end. trolling for three people but also good for casting. Will the main engine troll at 1.8mph? or maybe I set up the bow mount for trolling less then 2.5mph. any thoughts?

The lakes aren’t managed properly. did you catch any nice perch ?or other fish you can eat?

And just stay out fishing until the wind blows you to shore. I’d do it but I can’t eat fish 3 meals a day 7days a week. I need the odd seal in there.

By the look of the forecast cold weather ain’t going to happen. It takes some real cold to freeze that much slush and snow.

Were you able to wet a line? Or was it a total disaster.

I’d like to start off on a more relaxed schedule and a slower pace.

Leafs vs bruins. leafs drop passed and slept to be down 3-0 and then started to play. Hey why play 60min when you can play hard for 20 and ot and win. entertaining anyway. we need one defensive defence man for the playoffs.

Back in the 90s I pulled my hut in with a skidoo in 1’ of water. I’m glad I don’t have a hut out this year.
