  1. I can't say enough about this guy. Only been out with him once but I will be back this summer. Non stop shenanigans and he wouldn't let us go home from our half day charter till we had double digits. 6. Wow. If that ones 90 lb there's a few in the lower Niigata tipping the 50'mark you would need 200 pound braid and a marlin rod if they got Into the current tho. When I was a kid in NC my buddy's dad had a private lake about 3 acres in size. We were only allowed to fish one day a week ( he diddnt want the fishe pressured, he would feed the catfish an entire big bag of dog food once a week, from the end of the dock and there were some monsters inthere.

  11. Slap it together it will run its a Polaris. My 700 has run 3000 miles with a crack between the ports on both heads. Muriatic acid does wonders cleaning melted aluminum of cylinder walls.
  12. My fav. Beef rub. Brisket , roast beef ribs Rub meat with a quality Dijon mustard get a nice 1/4 inch coating on there. Then add the rub. 1/2 cup salt 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup pepper Paprika 3 tablespoons Onion powder 3 tablespoons Garlic powder 2 tablespoons Chillie powder 2 tablespoons Work it in good and let sit for 24 four hours in fridge. Bring beat to room temperature before smoking. Roasts I cook to med rare in middle, brisket and ribs it is important to take to 205 degrees to melt all the connective tissue. I smoke at no more than 250 degrees While I'm smoking I baste every half hour or so with apple juice , red wine, shallots , mixture that was brought to a boil on stove and let cool. I also usually put a bakin tin full of applejuiceninnthe smoker to keep the humidity up.
  13. Bait guy must not like you. My scoops are 50ish each
  14. Clean the carbs good, put some fresh gas in it, and pull a way. Not sure what the fuel pumps are on those but if it has a diaphragm it may be dried out and cracked.
  15. And parking isn't that bad, just follow the signs
  16. With your father with ya you may want to avoid guest rd/bear point. Pretty much anywhere around kempenfelt bay is a decent walk. Oro side has more choices.
  17. I've really struggled this season so far on simcoe. I have put in 5 days of hard fishing and not a decent fish to show for it. I've bin all over my usual early ice haunts with no success. Il be out next week for another three days and I'm comfotably gonna bring the snow machine on the main lake basin to hit some main lake basin waypoints. Straight of BBP rd. 6 inches as far as the eye can see, (and your willing to walk) the shorelines busted up. Mapleview rd. 6-8 inches. All the way to the islands. LOTS of cracks be carefull on quads
  18. Lots of ice on the main lake. Lots of cracks too. I'd be nervous on a bike no so much on a sled
  19. I usually put a km or two in a days fishing for lakers when I'm walking, on the sled 10 or twenty on a tough day
  20. Anyone else have pesky herring all day on simcoe? I caught about 30. I'd move and they'd be there too.

Personally I like the herring. Can't keep em but they were bigger then the perch and fight really well.

They fight like a wet sock compared to a laker. Kinda fun for. The first ten min. Looking down the hole and seeing 10,000 fish
