  1. Thanks guys I'll check those out!
  2. Can you ship something like that on a plane? Or is it better to get the plano with the lock on it?
  3. Hey thx for the reply. The salmon/pike net might be the right choice: http://stowmaster.norsemenoutdoors.com/shop/salmon-pike-net-ts94x
  4. I'm trying to track down a net that is very compact (like a folding or pop-out) net that would cover off netting walleye, pike, and the occasional musky (incidental maybe 1-3 per yr). Has anyone seen a larger net that is very compact and can pop-out etc? Just wondering what you would suggest. I like the Ego2 nets not sure if there is one big enough to work for what I'm after.
  5. You could also go to their bank with them and watch them withdraw the cash. Certified cheque or cash for sure. Unless they are comfortable waiting until the cheque clears to exchange goods. What about paypal or email money transfer? With paypal at least its tracked on both sides but that can end in dispute as well. Not a bad idea to get license plate and/or drivers license etc to be sure. Sad that you have to cover so many bases not to get burnt.
  6. Yup Al is great to deal with out there as well! Nice fish hopper
  7. Good idea! Hey someone should send in a suggestion to the MNR to put the tips line right on the new Outdoors cards!
  8. You could try Wildwood, during the week its not too bad.
  9. with good clean water? Not sure if they exist all dirty reservoirs down here . For decent fishing? There are a few. Conestogo and Belwood aren't too far from there. Might be worth a bit longer drive though.
  10. That's what I thought as well. As for towing 2000lbs with that Van, I wouldn't do it. In my experience towing about 1/2 or less the rated max capacity is comfortable limit at least with the vehicles I've towed with.
  11. Gotta wire the sonar separate right to the battery w/o any switches for the best interference reduction.
  12. Could you use regular ply and stain/seal it instead? That may still be cheaper than marine ply.
  13. The scanguage is pretty handy I would vote for that one!
  14. Hey where did you get yours? Stra the seats fairly high in it? Glad you like it it's really nice
  15. What a monster. Great catch!
  16. Its tough to give up a canoe it certainly has its place. But those Adriondack boats are nice. That or really small tinny. The sportspal would sit too low for me as does the current canoe.
  17. I'm looking at parting ways with my prospector canoe and getting something a little more geared for fishing. Was thinking about a jon boat but I like the idea of paddling once in a while on trips. I've seen the sportspals but I'm wondering if they sit very high off the seats, as I need lots of legroom. The Esquif mallard is another choice. What do you guys recommend? Need to fit two people, light enough for one and can paddle ok.
  18. Exactly. Some folks probably have sweet hookups with the above as well as tackle shops and have connections to a Pro that is sponsored. I'm not sure but I'm thinking there is a very generous margin from cost-retail for rods & reels.
  19. I have a buddy looking to rent a boat in the Huntsville area this summer for a cottage trip. Does anyone recommend a place up that way to rent from for a few days? Thanks!
  20. There are low emmission oils that would at least help with the old girl putting out the smoke. That's impressive though its still running!
  21. That seems slow for a forty if the tinny doesn't weigh too much. A buddy has a lund with a 25 and it does 24 mph with two people
  22. That will work but I would charge them separate unless you have a separate dual bank charger. Did you get my pm about fishing?
  23. Find a gas station that sells gas without Ethanol in it. Its ridiculous they are putting this in the fuel now and it lowers mpg
  24. Hmm good idea maybe we can get one going for fanshawe dam mar-may.
  25. I've been test driving lots of vehicles lately and if I were you I would strongly consider the ford edge in that price range. The 2011 has a really nice interior and power train. I'm not impressed with gm dealers or extended warranty pricing it's crazy...and I've always been a gm guy. if you do like the edge and don't mind diving to london area I can put you in touch with a great dealership. Also ford seems to be more accurate with their fuel mileage ratings.
