  1. I see that Princess auto is carrying the ctek chargers now at a special price next week. Also looks like Canadian tire has a good sale on their tie down and ratchet straps for those interested.
  2. I use hot water with blue dawn dish soap. The hotter water helps loosen the stubborn dirt etc. It strips any wax off so you would want to re-apply if necessary.
  3. garry2rs guides up there and can help you out send him a pm
  4. Wouldn't it coat o2 sensors etc? I'd be more inclined to use in weed whacker etc instead of my car with all the sensors etc.
  5. Mine works fine, looks like Rizzo figured it out above. Rizzo, you would have to purchase the hotmaps chip to get the 1ft contours of the lakes you are after.
  6. Does anyone else have this chip that comes with the Elite 5? Try and zoom in on a kawartha lake and see what the detail is like. I believe the 1ft contours is specific to certain version of the hotmaps series, not this all-in-one chip.
  7. St. Croix! But if you are worried about warranty etc, check your dealer for warranty procedure. I've never had to warranty mine (knock on wood) but I have heard that you have to ship and pay shipping. Some dealers do over the counter on some brands....even if its a small charge it beats sending it away.
  8. The Linders make a series
  9. Check the version when you have a chance. Anyone have that chip and can comment on the detail?
  10. Yes the brains of the chip are in the smaller chip the big piece is just an adapter. Check which version of software you have....should be under settings-system somewhere. Looks like there are some fixes for navionics on the latest updates http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/Elite-Software-Update/
  11. I'm not very familiar with the elite but I would think the navionics chip would show at least five foot contours. My hot maps chip has one foot contours but that is their hd mapping. Rizzo what is the model of map chip? Maybe were just missing a setting to get you better detail. Check the options maybe there is a way to get more detail.
  12. Good point! I tightened the in/out connections at the fuel pump but could still hear hissing. It honestly sounded like it was from inside the housing but will give that a try its got to be somewhere. FYI on the fuel bulb, it will prime solid but go down a minute or two after priming....whether starting it or not.
  13. Did some troubleshooting today and it looks like something above the bulb causing it to lose prime. Where the fuel pump is I can hear hissing when I prime. It doesn't leak or seem like it's a gasket so maybe the pump check valve?
  14. It's an attwood ethanol resistant one....the old one did the same thing so thinking it's not the bulb
  15. I have the tiller too Maybe I'll drain the carbs and add more sea foam. Do you have issues with the fuel bulb on that motor?
  16. Hey guys I have a 50hp Merc carburated 4 stroke and it seems to run rough at idle sometimes and occasionally stall out. Trolling around 3-5mph it sometimes misses. Running 2000rpm and above it runs great and seems to run better after going WOT for a little while. Changed the fuel filter, plugs, ran a bunch of seafoam through it this year. Runs better after plug change but still happens consistently. I also notice that the fuel bulb doesn't stay stiff on this motor...I've heard that this can be typical on these models but not sure. Has a built in fuel tank and put in a new fuel bulb this year. What else could be causing the issue? I know it was sitting quite a bit last year so hoping there isn't a bunch of water in the tank under the floor. Would be a real pain to pull the floor up. Any ideas? Thanks!
  17. Kawarthas were slow too at least for me. Just before dark seemed to be only decent time
  18. What about the crest liner fish hawk? I think that is the model. Buddy of mine has it with a 60 etec.
  19. At 16ft that won't give you much room with the dual or even single. Might want to look at the tillers. Nice boat you are after though I think space would be tight.
  20. The connectors gray part lies wide part horizontal try both sides one should fit
  21. That model is the right transducer. Lowrance recently switched them to 5 pin instead of 7. There should be a notch in the spot it connects
  22. Call bay view resort on Lower Buckhorn. Should be still open and Doug or Margret will take care of you.
  23. Great report! Very interesting on the speed...might have to try that as the water is still around 60 this week.
  24. Yup book with Bob you won't be disappointed
  25. I heard running 4 strokes dry is bad for them. not true?
