They are called "Donation Boxes" for a reason, you don't want to donate then don't! I support a variety of charities but I have a budget, when I have reached that budget then I do not donate anymore. I have never fealt that I had to be ashamed to say "thank you for the opportunity but I have already reached my limit for this year". Oh, and when I was just out of the army and got offered a job in Sudbury but didn't have a place to stay or money to eat until I got my first pay cheque. It was the Salvation Army that gave me a room and fed me everyday for free until I could get my first cheque. After that, they charged me a whole $10.00 a week for a room and meals until I could save up enough to get my own place. When my house burnt to the ground and my wife, son, and I escaped with nothing but our lives it was the Salvation Army that gave us food, clothing and enough basics to get us going again. They will always hold a very special place in my heart and as you might imagine no matter how tough times might get for me, I can always find a few spare dollars to donate.

Not so my friend. If you run a business and one of your customers doesn't pay you for what ever reason not only are you out of pocket for that money but you still have to cover your cost of doing business. Your suppliers still have to be paid, you still have to cover your employees wages and benifits, you still have your overhead.......Oh, and you'll still have to remit your taxes or pay a penality. On a sale of $100,000.00 your gross margine might be $30,000.00 (if you are lucky) which means you are now out of pocket $70,000.00 plus whatever your cost of operation is (the difference between your gross and net). On top of all of that your cash flow is now affected, you suddenly don't have that $100,000.00 in your cash flow stream but your suppliers and employees don't care, YOU owe them money not Target and they still want to be paid. Trust me, those suppliers are hurting really badly too, in fact they don't get to walk away from their debts like Target is (well some may be forced to declare bankruptsy too). To top it all off I hear that a lot of the Target employees are doing some pretty nasty things, sabotageing products, not showing up for work, showing up but not working. I understand their frustration but IMHO the best way to handle this is to do your job to the best of your ability, do it with pride and your head held high. You never know when the supervisor you are working for now might be the next person that interviews you, how would you like them to remember you?

Had their wireless and was pretty pleased with it then they ran cable down our street and we were able to get higher speed for less money and it is even better than the wireless. If you are happy with the internet service you should be happy with the phone too, I know we are!

Well, obviously you made it, that is the most important thing but what happened?

Thinking of and saying a prayer for you and Judy my friend!

I wonder if a couple of the Auto Inflate life jackets, one on each side would do it? The best thing about them is they would be automatic if submerged.

I don't know the lady so have no idea what her intentions were but if she knew who he was, where he lived and even his family why post it on facebook with the comment 'If you know this individual". If she had found out who he was through her facebook post then I would get it but apparently she knew it all along. Her intentions might have been honorable but it doesn't come across that way is all I'm saying.

That little sucker is only right 37% of the time so that means he is about as accurate as the weatherman (well a little better than the weatherman, oh to get beaten out by a dumb rodent, the shame of it)! Best thing you can do with a nice fat groundhog is make a nice stew, sit inside where it is warm and watch spring come when it gets here.

Next time you need glasses, go to Costco, you will save a fortune and the quality is just as good!

Well, I have sacrificed three phones to the fishing gods (and numerous other items) over the last 10 or so years, one down the hole, one somewhere between the hut and shore, and one right beside my dock this summer. I was fishing on a party boat in Florida about 20 years ago, having a super time and there was a pot for the biggest fish (a few hundred bucks). I hooked into a really nice grouper, it was easily the biggest fish of the day and putting up a great fight when suddenly my $400.00+ gold bracelet came undone and dropped into the ocean. Minutes later I lost the fish and let out a string of (not suitable for younger ears words). The guy beside me just looked at me and said "you got more upset about loosing that fish than you did about your bracelet"! I replied that the bracelet was insured, the fish wasn't!

Well, if she doesn't report it you can hardly blame the cops for not doing anything about it! I will say one thing though; that $65.00 pair of sun glasses sure has generated a lot of exposure for them, Facebook, here, and how many other sites.

Take a real good look at the people around you

What is most important in life, having many friends or just trying to be a good friend and reaching out to others? Over the years I have tried and still do try to be there for those that I can help when I can. Obviously I can't be all things to all people all the time and I am sure that over the years I have probably let lots of people down. It wasn't because I didn't care, sometimes I just didn't know what to do or say that would help, sometimes I had my own issues to deal with and sometimes I was just too busy trying to be a friend to someone else that I felt needed it. The one thing I have learned though is to try to try to cut people some slack and not be too judgemental. If someone is having a hard time for whatever reason and acts out of charactor (been there, done that) instead of jumping on them, reach out, find out what is behind it and try to understand their point of view. Doesn't mean you have to agree with it, doesn't mean they are right, just try to understand it. Friendship is a pretty complicated thing, we expect a friend to forgive us when we mess up, to be there for us when we need them and we expect a friend to understand! It's a wonderful thing but it has to work both ways! -
She knows exactly who he is and where he lives, has video footage of him but hasn't called the police? This I don't understand!

Had mine done (both eyes) a couple of years ago. I couldn't believe how many stars there were in the sky or how white, white really was after the surgery. I still need my glasses for reading but have bifocals so I just wear them all the time. Norm, if you think you are going have a problem getting to your appointment let me know, I'll come and get you if you need me too. Just try to give me a day or two notice so I can book off work.

That is the kind of posts we need to see more of on here. So often we forget to mention the people that go above and beyond when it comes to customer service!

That must have been so neat to watch! I wonder who will learn from it; the other squirrels that were around and realize that it could be dangerous or the fox who realizes that the squirrels are easy to catch and good to eat (especially when fattened up on bird seed).

Well, first of all thank you Mr. Green because some ones father/brother/son will be coming home tonight because of you! Second, I'd like to know more about this; was he near a river or something? There is at least 14" of ice out here on Sturgeon Lake (I AM NOT SAYING IT IS SAFE) anywhere I have drilled holes in the past few weeks. I would assume that the ice thickness is the same there.

I'm not the best guy to ask but I would think you will have to go into your settings and allow cookies but you might want to check with Apple about that first.

Winds out of the NW. The lake is beautiful, the snow drifts look like waves coming across the lake!

He isn't the one that is waisting the courts time if he did no wrong, the cop is by issuing a bogus ticket. Sometimes it costs you money to stand up for your rights and all too often people just "suck it up" and pay the fine! If more of us fought these sorts of things they wouldn't happen as often.
-
IMHO that is probably one of the stupidest stunts I have ever seen! If one of those had made contact that guy could have been very seriously hurt. A few years ago we had a couple of young guys out here on the lake in boats running around shooting those things at each other, one actually landed right in the boat. Can you imagine what the out come would have been if it had hit the gas line? Darwin awarde candidate!

Could it have something to do with tracking cookies?
