Ok, perhaps I need to rephrase the question: if you do get tested and it comes back positive they can't cure it so you either get better or you don't. If you get better no problem, if you don't well.... So is there any advantage to getting tested which could expose you and others to potential contact?
-
Good point, since I live alone I didn't think of that aspect of it.
-
I am just wondering if there is really any point in getting tested. There is no cure and it seems that if you do test positive you are to self isolate, that's what's suggested anyway for people that MAY have been exposed.

Ya LOL, we didn't use pampers when the kids were young, we couldn't afford them, cloth diapers, washed and hung out on a cloths line. -
Check out the Moorings Marina on Snug Harbour Rd. Sturgen Lake. I haven been there in a few years but they did have washrooms, showers, and a pool.

1 part bleach to 9 parts water is an effective hand sanitizer from what I understand. As far as TP is concerned, I have plenty but I also have a few packs of micro fiber cloths, I washed plenty of diapers when the kids were young, TP isn't a priority for me 😊 -
Very smart man! 🤗

Ah, thanks for checking up on me my friend. I have returned and am currently in voluntary isolation for the next 11 days. As far as I know I am fine, I am not showing any symptoms at this point, my temperature is normal, and to the best of my knowledge I haven't been in contact with anyone who is infected. So far so good but I don't want to risk contact with anyone just in case. I have plenty of food, enough medications to last me 4 weeks and enough work to do around here to keep me busy for a long time. Oh and plenty of TP lol. My goal right now is to make sure I am clear then try to help as many people as I can that are dealing with this.

Thanks my friend, me too!

Home safe and very tired , drove straight through, border very busy even at 3:30 am. Didn't even ask about booze, tobacco, guns.... just advised voluntary self quarantine for 14 days.

Ya, this place is paid for until the end of the month, anyone want a free three bedroom place in Myrtle Beach for a couple of weeks?
-
Well, we have decided to head for home early Tuesday morning, if we are going to get it it will be a lot easier to deal with it there than here. Trudeau announced that closing the borders is a possibility, it's not worth taking the chance.
-
That's very kind of you, thank you! If I really thought I would have a problem I would already be headed for home. Yesterday was the first time I noticed empty shelves at Wal-Mart for TP, funny all the restraunt parking lots are packed full, grocery stores are busy, but they are telling people to avoid gatherings like church?????

I am a little concerned about it too, my travel insurance runs out March 28th, if for any reason I can't cross back into Canada on the 26th I could be in a tight spot, no place to stay state side and no health insurance. I guess we'll just have to stay on top of it and react accordingly

Well I am still in Myrtle Beach and conserned but I wouldn't say WORRIED yet. We are being very careful to use hand sanitizer anytime we go shopping or do anything in public, fist bumps are now common replacing hand shakes. I haven't noticed any hording here yet, stores seem to still be well stocked but many public events and shows have been cancelled including the St. Patrick's day parade which is a huge event for this area. My kids have expressed concern about my being down here but I figure I would be at as much risk there as I am here, we will be heading home on the 26th as planned unless something happens to force us to change that, besides the fishing has just taken off 😊. Stay safe everyone!

FYI: Peterborough Tackle Swap and Show rescheduled

I am guessing that would be about the same in thick mud too then?

Wow, what a day! It started out cold and windy but I headed out to the pier anyway, shouldn't have bothered though. The water temperature had dropped again with all the rain on Friday and with winds gusting to over 30 mph making it hard to tell if you were getting a bite or not, an hour of fishing yielded not even a bite. Oh well the rods wanted their walk on the pier. Hooked up with Fisherguy and we headed out to see if we could get some clams, that was a lot more productive! With the high winds blowing off shore the tide was a lot lower than normal so I was able to get out to an area that isn't usually exposed. I have gotten quite selective now, too big or too small and I just leave them, the small ones aren't legal and the big ones tend to be tough. Max was just along as an observer this trip, he stayed on shore and chatted with others, took some pictures and just seemed to enjoy the experience, me, I had fun digging in the mud. About two hours of work and my back was telling me it was time, I was getting very close to my limit anyway (1/2 a bushel) and the tide was coming back in anyway. We hauled the clams over to a gravel area, washed and sorted them again just to make sure none were undersized. Good thing we did, the CO was on duty again today and we got stopped, it was a quick stop, as soon as he saw that I had followed Chuck's suggestions from a couple of weeks ago he didn't even look any further, bid us a good day and we were on our way. Anyway the final count was just over 9 dozen clams and apart from about three dozen promised to friends and neighbors they are all steamed, vac packed, and in the freezer. Another great day with wonderful company; it doesn't get much better!

Really nice meeting you this morning too, small world! Looking forward to taking you out for the clamming we talked about. I'll text you later and let you know when.
-
Well that's the plan, if you want to meet me at the pier office at 7am I can loan you a pier pass.
-
No coffee thanks, washrooms aren't open on the pier yet and they don't appreciate us letting it all hang out lol. If you want to get together tomorrow evening for a coffee I can loan you a pier pass, I have some extras that I won't need. I should be home by 3 after I drop my friend at the airport. I am at 243 F Trail. One road back from the beach just about in line with the pier. Cliff

Hey, good to hear from you. The whitings are just starting to hit again in the last few days. I am usually out on the pier every morning at 7 am if it's not raining too hard or blowing like stink. Have you fished here before? I have a blue cooler, white top, with 2 black wheels that I roll out there with me. I am going for clams and oysters this weekend if you are interested let me know. Rain will be over around 4 this afternoon, my current house guest is flying home tomorrow afternoon so let's try to hook up for a coffee.
