  1. Very sad to see anyone go through all of that and equally hard on the survivors. Our love and prayers are sent! Cliff & Sue
  2. Between the site being down and my internet connection being down I never know what is going on anymore! This explains why I all of a sudden ended up with a whole new look at the site though, I just changed everything back to club view and just thought it was my computer that messed up.
  3. Now you know why I very seldom post pictures, use to be simple, upload to OFC insert link done. I'm old enough now I don't lie about my age anymore, I brag about it!
  4. Exactly! They were still happening, we just didn't hear about it. Today there is an earthquake in Japan and we hear about it before the ground stops shaking. Christ, I still remember phones that you had to turn the crank on then ask Betsy to connect you to brock 329 (or whatever). I remember when the first steam engine came into our town, everyone showed up to see it. Today on tv I saw a copier that that can actually copy and recreate a working 3D tool c/w moving parts and usable. Spave travelers will no longer have to carry tools or parts with them, just a file and the material to actually construct the part.
  5. Welcome to the board Beagle Dad, I am sure you will fit right in here, some of the finest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting!
  6. I tried that and couldn't get it to work at all! But then I am old and not too bright!
  7. I use my computer a lot for work and have to down load some fairly large files so I am leary of going with someone that has caps or limits. Apparently Cable cable doesn't and when they advertise 3 mbps, that is what you get, not up to as with xplornet. They are going to do a site survey to make sure they can deliver what they promise, it is also less expensive than xplornet and service is right out of Fenelon Falls. We'll see what they have to say after the survey.
  8. We have been with Xplornet for a few years now but that is soon going to change. For weeks now we have been having problems, intermittant service, no connection...... I have called them a few times, an hour on the phone here, an hour there, gone through so many tests I can't remember them all. Then they tell me that they will have to send a tech out but I will have to pay mileage. I wait a week, nothing happens. I'm not happy but I need my computer. Then my system goes down again. I call again; Now they tell me the tech is going to be coming from Ottawa, 5 hours drive one way! (and I am supposed to pay mileage?). They walk me through a bunch of tests and decide they have no idea what is going on, it must be my system that is causing the problem. They will get someone closer than Ottawa to come and look at it (but I am still going to have to pay). So today I am talking with my neighbour also with Xplornet and she has being having exactly the same problems for the same length of time as I have. Strange don't you think? Tomorrow morning I am going to be calling Cable Cable in Fenelon Falls to see what they can do for me. So if you are thinking of getting Wireless internet and you are thinking Xplornet, think carefully! For now, If you send me an email or PM and don't get an answer, phone me, 705-328-0577 Cell 705-928-8899 because Xplornet sucks!
  9. Oh Wayne, that is such wonderful news! We just keep praying and being amazed! Give her our love!
  10. I have had the pleasure of spending a bit of time with Pikeslayer, you were in good company! John and I have a date coming up to hit lake O with him very soon! Really looking forward to it! Super report! Thanks.
  11. Too late, that has already happened! But dam she is cute!
  12. Want to co-adopt?????? I don't do much rabbit hunting any more but I'm sure she would love a good run in the bush once in a while!
  13. All right, we need an OFC rib cook off! OK, You win, what time do we eat? (and I thought my " Cliffie's caveman ribs" were good! Those look much better!)
  14. Found out that Garry had picked up his pup today and knew Shane was hoping to get some fishing in this weekend so we ended up picking her up this evening. She is being an absolute doll, Explored the house then curled up under the coffee table (I think she has decided that will be her safe place)beside Sue and hasn't made a peep. Sue just told me I can fish as much as I want to, go ATVing with my son up in French River next weekend, Oh life is good!
  15. Depending on the water temp I will sometimes use my live well with lake water if I know I am not going to be out for long but if I am going out to catch fish for the table I prefer Roy's method. Dispatch quickly, pack on ice. After cleaning I also soak my fillets in a bit of salted water in the fridge over night then pack them in fresh water and freeze them. Never get freezer burn and when you do take them out of the freezer to use, they taste just the same a fresh caught.
  16. Well, I always use snap hooks and cross the chains but I think I'll "hook up" from now on! Good thread!
  17. Two years ago CPH was up here crappie fishing with me. When we came in and got ready to clean the fish, he pulled out his Rapala Electric filleting knife. Now I have been filleting fish for almost 50 years, I have a Cutco (which I love) and a couple of other knives and I think I am fairly quick but CPH was doing three to my one and doing just as good a job. The next day I went to CTC and bought myself one of the electrics. It took one or two fish to get use to it but I can fillet a fish in about 1/3 the time and believe me there is no more meat lost than if I was using any of my other knives. I think I paid $39.95 on sale. A really good investment in my books.
  18. Good question! I have always put mine on with the hook facing down, the logic being that if the hitch failed the trailer would drop and lag behind hense applying the weight downward and to the strongest part of the hook but I could be very flawed in my reasioning. I'll be interested in hearing the answer to this one!
  19. You trying to give my buddy Beans a heart attack kid? You know how they say dogs often look like their owners; well Chiquita is a perfect example of that (sorry about that buddy but I owe you one or two LOL).
  20. I put it in EVERY can of gas that comes to the house. It is cheep insurance!
  21. I guess sometimes our prayers do get answered. Give her our love! She sure is a special one!
  22. Well, I might need someone to puppy sit once in a while and I'm sure a nice walk would be good for socializing the puppy so maybe
  23. I might have thought it but to actually say it? That was just plain mean!
  24. Use the grade that your manufacturer reccomends for your motor. Save yourself a lot of money and time trying to out guess the guys that desigined your motor, they might not be the brightest bulbs in the string but they do know what they are talking about when it comes to that motor. (or at least they should) Use a good quality fuel stabilizer. You will stop a lot of problems from ever happening to your entire fuel system. You have a lot of good mechanics on this board, listen to them once in a while!
  25. That's OK, if we have a beagle G2G this fall you can still come and drool
