We already had 5 landed when this happened, I wanted to pull the lines and head in but he wasn't having any of it. Funny thing is, there was absolutly no blood, not even a single drop. As for leaving him at the hospital, I would have quite happly sat there with him but it didn't make much sense and I had two students with me, (one was his son) that had to be in school for 8 am. We made sure his truck and trailer were parked in a safe place and he was the one that insisted it was stupid to sit around and wait for him. his son kept in touch with him by text and by the time we got home he was out of the hospital and headed for home himself just happy to not be wearing the extra jewlery LOL. -

WOW is perhaps the best way to describe it! A friend invited me to go salmon fishing with him tonight. We hit the water about 5 pm. Five minutes after setting the first line it went off, unfortunatly so did the fish (not a good omen). But from then on it was a whole different story, two double headers almost back to back and all big fish up in the 20 lb range, two of them well over 20. By shortly after 6 we already had 4 in the boat and 3 missed fish. Then it happened, the old hook in the finger right to the bone. There was no way we could get it out, it was burried really deep but our host wouldn't quit, he insisted we were going to keep fishing in spite of the fact he was obviously in a lot of pain. Finally by 7 pm he agreed that with 7 landed and 4 missed we had all enjoyed a really good night. He couldn't drive his truck with this big trebble hook hanging out of his finger so I and the other two fellows managed to load the boat and get all the gear stowed then I drove him in his truck the the nearest hospital. He wouldn't even let us wait for him insisting that there was no point in all of us sitting around and we still had better than an hour drive home. We did keep in touch to make sure everything worked out ok and all is good now. But what a heck of an evening! 7 for 11 in two hours has to be some kind of a record.

Wheel bearing grease can get pretty stiff in cold weather. I often see snow blowers that guys have cleaned and greased up all nice in the fall, when it gets cold in the winter they can't understand why they are having trouble shifting them. A little light oil might be a better choice IMHO.

I did have a BB and liked it but my wife had a really hard time trying to use hers so I got us a pair of Iphone 4s and we both really like them. She has figured out how to sync her ebooks between her phone/Ipad mini/and Kobo and she finds it much easier to use that the BB was. Like you, I have no trouble with the battery life but is always good to get feedback and another opinion. Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond in detail. Information is power! -

Had the same issue, when the sun was shining on the sensor at just the right angle it would do that.

I have an Iphone with Google maps too and love it BUT if he is out of cell phone range it won't be much help to him. -
Is there a scrap yard near you? If so contact them, I often see guys hauling loads of old appliances in to scrap dealers.

I have a Garmin Map (I think it is a 76, I'll get it out later and see) that you can have. One minor problem, one of the little battery tabs broke off but I also have a second unit (which doesn't work but the battery tabs are good). If you are at all handy (or know someone that is) they are yours if you want them. As for the cell phone thing, there are plenty of options, I just sold a perfectly good Blackberry for $50.00 with a case and charger which would have done everything you wanted. -
Well, some lawyers I know would be a close second (oh wait, aren't most politicians lawyers?) You have to ask yourself; if they really want to curb smoking why do they tax the "stop smoking" aids?

Ya but I wonder how many poor seniors these jackasses do con. There must be enough to keep them in business and they are nothing but crooks! We've had them call here countless times and even called Sue a liar when she told them our computer was fine. That's when I got on the phone!!!!!!! Last time they called she told the guy to hold on for a second, she'd put him through to our fraud division; he hung up right then and there.

I'm not in your area (but I could be) and I'm not a garage door guy but I have fixed a few. Depending on what needs to be done I might be able to help you! If you don't find anyone close by that can help you out, let me know!

If you find one, let me know, I might be able to pick it up for you and drop it off at your place.

Walleye Fishing with Big Cliff: The Report

LOL well it was a record (but for the smallest walleye I have seen landed)! Paul, I really enjoyed getting out with you and look forward to more opportunities! -
That might be a real bonus! Close but not too close could push that property value through the roof!

Thanks for that link Lew. I do always wear mine when I go out in the boat too no matter how calm it is. Actually I find the inflatable ones so comfortable that I often forget I even have it on. The comment about having to bail our province out by handing out tickets: Not a chance, they couldn't hand out enough tickets! Weren't casinos supposed to be helping to pay for our medicare at one point. Go to any casino at the end of the month and just look at all the cars lined up in the handycap spaces. People are just lining up to donate their money to charity! Oh but wait, there is more..... Ya, you know the drill, no matter how much we give they will always want more and find another excuse to take it from us. And when they have enough, they will just give themselves all big raises and pensions until they once again, need more.

On the surface it sure sounds like someone was having a bad day (or two). There may be other factors in both cases that we are not aware of but if it is as it sounds and I was the lodge owner, I would be filing a complaint against the officer on behalf of my customers. I might even consider trying to plead their case in court for them although I'm not sure what would be involved in doing that. As far as wearing your PFD. I have two inflatables, one is an auto inflate, the other one is manual only. It is my understanding that the auto inflate does not have to be worn to be legal but the manual one does have to be. Any comments?

I'm not sure what you did wrong, plenty of factors involved. I built a bit of a raised bed for mine, it's just easier to keep it weeded and it seems to thrive in well drained soil. I started my roots in a bed of good organic compostand covered them with about 3-4" of compost. Once shoots started showing I slowly built the bed up by adding more compose an inch or two at a time until the roots were 6-7" deep. I didn't harvest at all the first year, the second year I just did a light harvest then let it go to seed, now I harvest every year until about mid June then let it go to seed. Add a couple of inches of good compost every year and you should be good to go. I only have a little patch 2' wide by 12' long and I get so much out of it that we are constantly giving it away to the point that the neighbors get tired of it.
