  1. just been reading this post for awhile now, and cant really understand what all the fuss is over these bluegills.if the limit is 300 then so be it i can not imagine cleaning that many anyway. personally i dont like the new panfish quota because i find it could be a little confusing for people and left open to interpretation ie: 7+ inches for 30, 270 under 7 which is a lot of fish to keep track of and could easily be messed up by an angler. i am glad that i am not a bluegiller because of this. because of rice lake's proximity to Toronto and being a kawartha area lake with lots of tourism, it does get pummelled non stop which i have seen get worse and worse year after year so i am sure there is a good reason for said limits. i think people sometimes jump the gun when there are changes without giving them a chance to take shape. give it time, THEY ARE BLUEGILLS THEY WILL SURVIVE BABY!
  2. best post ever! chuck made me write that
  3. id just take a bite out of it and set it free. catch and release is the only way fellas
  4. yo trevy i lived down in miami for 3 years and have fished the everglades 3 or 4 times and it was awesome, just as beansy said rest stops on 75 are good. i used a guide by the name of steve macdonald and u can also get boat at everglades park for real cheap if u want to go it yourself but the guides got the gear, sweet boats and knowledge of spots etc. dont eat the bowfin
  5. mike put out 4 to 8 inch large suckers or shiners in 10-15 feet of water, the larger bait eliminates alot of the tiny pike and unwanted species from setting off the tip ups, some big pike on those lakes, especially charleston. havent been out to any of those this year but good luck man.
  6. sorry for the late replky bro but dog is great for pike splake and crappie. not sure about the ice this year but i would assume that it is good right now. was out on buck today and there was a good 6-8 inches just beware of currents and you wiil be fine

  10. yeah man its cranberry lake. u should be able to find bass in most bays and weedbeds in dog or any of the connecting lakes. even right in the shipyards by the stumps. there is no shortage of structure and u should be able to get a few at least over 3-4 lbs. i would be fishing dog this weekend if it werent for a bass tourney in another lake close by. good luck g

  17. mike, i finished the f@w program 3-4 years ago. i completed 2 years and decided to finish with the 2 year diploma for financial reasons. i found the course was very interesting and learned alot. But at the same time when i got out and started looking for jobs with various agencies, mnr etc. it was very tough to find jobs especially good paying ones. I have two post secondary diplomas and havent found anything in that field. i ended up managing construction projects in florida and just recently moved back to ontario. either way you look at it, if want to make a good amount of money you are going to move around quite a bit. The program is good but the diploma will not guarantee you anything. if i was you i would still go to the frost campus and take drilling and blasting. big money there good luck dude.
  18. overpaid spoiled workers might be the wrong thing to say about people who go in to same same place day in and day out for years to feed their families. dont knock someone before youve been in their shoes. i thought this was a fishing site. not cnn. happy holidays people
  19. if they're burbot then eat em. i catch em all winter and hope to post an actual report in a few weeks when i get back from florida. i eat them all the time in winter as that is the only time i catch em but through the ice they are relatively easy to catch. real tasty. dont eat dogfish. dont do it
  20. been living in miami for the last few years but am making the move back north this december. kingston rocks
  21. try whippin a few off the causeway for pickerel or pike as well as of the puc docks near hotel dieu hospital. there is also thousands of lakes north of kingston that arent too far with some good shore fishing.
