Three day long weekend at the lake.

Unfortunately the weather was sucky for most of it but it gave me time to do some inside work.

Finally finished the last couple of floor joists in the loft and got the rest of the floor sheathing done.

Then I got the landing done and started on the stairs.

On Monday the weather finally broke and I got to spend the day on the roof.

Managed to get the ridge venting and tin work finished as well as the caulking that needed to be done.

The roof is FINISHED!!!!!!! I hope I don't need to go up there for a while now.

LOL, Even Field AndStream picked up the story.

And one arm 6" longer than the other from carrying it around!!!!

I do as much as I can and only take it to a mechnik as a last resort.

Last big job I did was a timing belt and waterpump replacement as well as replacing several valves when the old belt skipped a tooth.

OH, there are plenty of bears but he has plenty of firearms to deal with said bears if needed plus he keeps the place clean.

Those tote holders are a great idea..unfortunately it wont work in my river application. The river bed drops from nothing to 8 feet 5 feet from shore

Yeah, you would need to stack em in that case.

Is it possible to cantilever your dock out from the shore?

Have good piles on shore say 10' apart. One set right by the shore and the second set 10' further back from the shore.

Cantilever 4' over the river with no piles in the river.

If you suspend it over the river you shouldn't have issues with ice or high water unless it's stupid high.
