Been there, done that!!!
Had it happen with a momma griz and her 2 cubs in Alaska.
She didn't just stare though, she bluff charged me until another person up river caught her eye.
Thought I was gonna have to swim for it.

Just like when I am in my truck or operating heavy equipment, avoiding over reacting prevents the majority of accidents. Anyone who gets hit in the face by a bug or even small stone and over reacts enough to even come close to dropping their bike shouldn't have been on the bike in the first place. Large bugs sting and stones cause welts, but the rider must suck it up and carry on. Many guys wipe out because they over react.
I wear a full face helmet for protection from weather, debris, and bugs.
I've been hit by bugs, stones, cigarette butts, and even pieces of blown tire along with being cut off a few times by vehicles and a deer. Keep calm, do not over react, and look where you want to go. Alcohol, drugs, bad drivers, and "scatter brain" people do not mix well with bikes.
My buddy who used to ride had a bird hit him in the shoulder on the highway. It blew his hand right off the bar but he was able to hold it together and save himself from wrecking. If you can live through that I think you can live through anything!!!

I used to plow commercially with my full size Ford Bronco with an 8' Fisher plow.
You'll be fine with a 1500 series and a plow.

Already looking forward to it Dave.
Love this video
I lost it for a while when the site I had it stored on shut down.
Took quite some time to figure out where I had it stored here at the house.

She's cold, raining and blowing like mad today.
No cabin this weekend, but it got me thinking ahead to this.

Smart choice Peter, now forget about one of those darn jet skis, especially on Pigeon Lake; we have too many already. LOL
I have to admit they are fun to ride and make a neat little fishing platform.

Provincial Taxes
Then why sooooooo much cheaper once you get South of Sudbury?
The East shore of Lake Superior is the worst for gas prices.
-
I might get better fuel economy is than some, but caveat is gas here is usually alot more. It's around 116 right now.
You guys up there usually pay more than we do here in Yellowknife.
Our current price is $1.139L
There is no reason for it either.

Maybe it will knock down some of the fires and smoke
Maybe, but the fires are hundreds of miles away.
Hopefully they get rain.
Wind has changed and smoke is pretty much gone here now.

Pretty good mashup right here.

I'm still waiting for Toyota to come out with new power plants.
I want a Tundra but refuse to purchase one with the gas guzzling 5.7 that is 10 year old technology.
The latest news I have heard is 2020 for new engines.
Sure hope that's wrong.

Looks like I'm taking the weekend off.

I've always shied away from on road bikes.
Had a dirt bike that was a ton of fun though.
Up here in the NWT we can run side by sides and 4 wheelers on the roads as long as you have insurance and they are plated.
Don't know what the rules are back in Ontario but if allowed would be a safer option and just as much fun.

Was back at er again this weekend.Managed to get my cribs assembled and installed. Also got the land based dock section leveled out finally. It's been bugging the crap out of me for three years!!!!Even managed to load about a ton of rock into the cribs. Still lots to go.Still need to fill in the section where the dock meets land to smooth it out.Got a little more work done on the stairs to the loft as well.Almost forgot. This rolled in Friday night.Air quality was horrible!!!

I think that's just Chicago!!!

I have seen them group under MOA. hardly spray and pray .

I have a couple of buddies that shoot long range competitions down in the states and they ring the bell out to 1,200 yards with them.

Roof looks great! Your landing looks about 6" short though. If you had cut closed stringers it would have worked better. Stairs can be tricky, but they are a favourite of mine to build.
S.
You are correct. Figured that out after.
Going to shore it up with an extension before I go any further.

ive been creeping this thread for years but have never commented and I dont know why. Its perhaps one of my favourites though. keep up the good work! i still remember when you were leveling your foundation posts using a water hose!
LOL Creeper!!!!
FYI, it was a water level not a water hose.
Them water hoses are too hard to see through!!!
