  1. No Richter, main camp. Currently sitting @ Chilis in the Edmonton airport waiting on a burger.
  2. I'll be leaving work in less than 1/2 an hour to head to the airport on my journey East for opening week on the Attawapiskat. Should be in the big smoke at about 11PM tonight, then it's off to the North.
  3. You got that right!!!! My big girl came on a 3oz tandem spinnerbait black with orange baits. I retired it after that fish.
  4. Out on the West coast you will find an abundance of aluminum boats. And HarberCraft/KingFisheris the right up there, though there are lots of other aluminum offshore boats and skiffs to be seen. Wooldrige is another big West coast name.
  5. I pull my batteries each fall and bring them inside where they go on the charger to get fully topped up. I will pop them back on the charger every few months to fully charge them. You don't want to leave them outside over the winter if they are not fully charged or they will freeze and become useless. If you take proper care of your batteries they will last for years. If you ignore them and leave them discharged you will end up with short lived battereies that let you down. IMHO
  6. A little pre puck drop music. GO CANUCKS!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzpHmbwqHLM
  7. If you're going to be there when bass is open make sure you have bass tackle with you as there are some very good fish in the area. My 2 biggest bass ever were caught not more than 100 yds from the dock. My biggest musky ever (all 53 1/2" of her) was caught trolling within a mile or so of there.
  8. I used to use plain old 20# mono and just check after catching a pike. Now though I would think 20#-30# Flourocarbon would be even better. My fly leaders for pike I'm using 40# Seaguar flouro leader material.
  9. Shouldn't be hard to find an ULU up here. I actually have a souvenier one sitting on my bookshelf in the living room.
  10. This is true. My current vehicle I bought used from a Honda dealer when they had one of their financing deals on. The rate was 0.9% on new vehicles and 3.9% on used. FYI 5.6% is a pretty decent rate on a used vehicle. You will be hard pressed to get better than about 8% through a bank.
  11. In Canada there are several good choices. As stated there is The Fishin' Hole and LeBarons (although their online ordering is a PIA) and Cabelas Canada. There are a bunch of specialty stores across the country doing business online as well ie. Centerpin Angling
  12. Yes, there is nothing that says you have to use all 3 conductors. Just tape it up and have at 'er.
  13. Unless he has had a pardon he will be denied entry in Canada.
  14. Or taken down with extreme prejudice!!!!
  15. It is not a big deal. As Solo said take a piece of 50 grit and hand sand it down to fit or just sand the tennon completely off and don't worry about it. Not really a big issue at all. You can also round off the outside of the shoulder for a better transition if you like. Start with 50 grit and finish down to 300. It may be possible that they shipped either too large a diameter cork (1 1/8" as opposed to 1"). :dunno:
  16. Do they exist? You're darned right they do. I captured this one on video last summer!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyVsHNEBeBk&safety_mode=true&persist_safety_mode=1
  17. Don't forget to leave the lawyers behind too. As for the amnimals, anything that stings or bites (scorpions, wasps, hornets, fire ants, jellyfish, poisonous snakes, spiders)
  18. Maybe Canadave has a point. What's your license plate #. If it's one of these it could be the reason. Infidel Jihad Taliban Kaboom Allah Revenge
  19. You can wire them both to the same battery with separate fuses/circuit breakers. Personally I would use auto resetting circuit breakers (available at Napa). 10 Guage power and ground wire can be purchased at Princess Auto and car stereo shops. You may well be able to get it through Napa as well. I would just run them off your starting battery but if you find it wearing the battery down change over to the other battery. You really aren't running the riggers all that much so you shouldn't have a problem.
  20. Dan I would say it's worth somewhere in the $2500 range just looking at the pics. If you could get some better pics with the trailer it would be easier to tell.
  21. When I repower it's getting 115 and 9.9 four strokes, Smartcraft guages and new controls. Just need to pay off a few things first before I spend $15,000 on motors.
  22. Dragged the boat out today and checked out the fit of the new kicker (thanks to HTHM adn Solopaddler for getting it and shippping it out to me) and I installed the new Minn Kota bow mount I picked up last summer for a song. Even better is I have someone that wants to buy my old TM for what I paid for the new one. The main use od the little Merc is going to be on my inflatable but will do double duty on my big boat until I repower the boat in 2013. The new motors look good. Now I just need this to go away.
  23. It gets old when you've been doing it for almost 7 months. Can't wait to hit the open water on the Attawapiskat this Friday afternoon!!!
  24. They do that? That would be sweet when it's -50 up here.
  25. Went to my buddies cabin to chillax this afternoon and took a few shots for ya. They were still driving their trucks on the lake Tuesday but the approaches are pretty sketchy now so I had to walk to their place. :-\ This is for yooze guys that are sweatin' yer butts off already. ;D Oh yeah, the ice is still over 3' thick when you get away from the shoreline.
