  1. Been running 87 octane Shell in my OB for 20 years with no issues. I do add a bunch of stabilizer to it though. Supposedly all of our gas in the NWT is Ethanol free from what I have been told.
  2. BWAAHAAHAAHAAA!!!! Too funny. :clapping:
  3. I wasn't worried as I met his boss on Monday and we got along great. Besides his boss owes me one. I saved him from some embarrassment due to a wardrobe malfunction. :rofl2:
  4. I offered to buy him a pint at The Range but he was on a tight schedule. :rofl2:
  5. Living in a small town has it's advantages. Today was the official welcoming ceremony for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Will's & Kate ) and as luck would have it the park is just 2 blocks from my office. So at 9:30 this morning I went to the park to find a good place to do some royal watching. I found a spot right along the barriers on the way to the street hockey demonstration and new it was perfect for getting some photos and video as the Royals passed on their way to the hockey event area. I was right and got some great shots and best of all got to talk to Prince William and shake his hand, but I was too busy with the cameras when his lovely bride came by and the security dudes hurried her past as they were getting too far behind the prince. I did get a great shot of her while she was shaking hands with my buddy though. Enjoy the pics. Some early area and crowd shots Some shots of William And some shots of Kate
  6. Not necessarily. It depends on if your engine has a thermostat or not. The Yamaha I just finished working on for a buddy would have a fairly weak stream for 30 seconds to a minute and when the engine had warmed up enough to open the Tstat it would come out strong enough to drill holes in my driveway.
  7. I have not had the hose pressure force water out of the tell tale before. When I hook up the hose I don't get a stream until I start the engine. The motor will draw water in while it is stationary. The boat does not need to be in motion.
  8. When I was running my boat out of Pt. Credit I was checked by the Peel Marine Unit dozens of times with never an issue. Heck at one point I was checked by the same pair of officers 5 days in a row. You would figure after the first couple of times they would remember me.
  9. They weren't when I posted this. I said they would go fast.
  10. Saw an interesting job posting in the local paper today.
  11. Got an email this morning from Bass Pro with a huge deal on Humminbird Fishfinder 768 on sale for $199!!! If you're looking don't wait as supplies are limited.
  12. Sounds like you had a bit of water in the bottom of the tank. You will need to clear your fuel hose line and drain your carbs as well as getting rid of the water in the bottom of your tank. You will also need to drain the fuel filter. I have seen this happen many times. I just finished disassembling/cleaning and reassembling the 4 carbs on my buddies Yamaha yesterday. He didn't bother taking care of the issue in a timely manner and I had a bunch of gelled fuel and some corrosion to deal with. Make sure in the future that you remember to close the vent on the tank and run fuel stabilizer to prevent this issue in thefuture. Plus cudos to Elevatorman for bringing you home safe. :clapping:
  13. They were hiding in the corner. LOL Make sure to pick up some 3/4 oz ones as well. I used more of them than I did the bigger ones.
  14. I don't see any silver or gold Johnsons Silver Minnows in there. Do not go up there without at least 1/2 a dozen in 3/4 oz and 1 1/4 oz sizes. Along with 4-5 inch twister tails or split double tails in white. Just sayin'
  15. A little BBQ'd Lake Trout for your viewing pleasure.
  16. No problem Simon. Sounds like it was a wee bit sticky. Glad you got it worked out.
  17. Check all of the connections and make sure thay are clean and tight, if they are jump the starter solenoid, if it still doesn't spin the starter properly take the starter in for testing.
  18. You can use them in water that is deeper than 4" too. I found this video earlier this month whilw searching around youtube. Me thinks people that live in Idaho may be a few fries short of a Happy Meal, don't you?
  19. Try that on a jet ski and you'll just punch a hole in the hull. The hull on that jet boat is aluminum and 3/8" thick UHMW while the jet ski is 1/4" fiberglass. The UHMW is practically bulletproof!!!
  20. Yep, they be pretty cool until you get em stuck. Just make sure you have a portable winch, parachute, hi-lift jack, a couple of soccer or basket balls, come along, a shovel and axe for when it does happen.
  21. Yes you can!! For about $70 you can buy one or you can make your own. Canoe Motor Mount
