  1. They will have plenty of time fer relaxin' when they are comfortably retired at age 40.
  2. Yes, it's Craig. The picture was taken in the Hay River enr office. The one netted in Deline is still in the freezer up there last I heard. 83# Laker
  3. That accident was 100% the fault of the guy ripping past the guys that were stopped/moving slowly. He was going way to fast for riding on a trail and when you approach others slow the heck down. You wanna run balls to the wall do it out on the lake not on a trail. The guy was probably drunk too.
  4. It wasn't eaten. It was turned into the enr office for study and probably mounting for the visitors center or other public building.
  5. Thank god I'm at work where it's warm!!!! I'll be freezing my butt off on the weekend though.
  6. This is an article from our local newspaper published in the summer of 2011. This piggy laker was caught in a net on the South side of Great Slave. Here is a pic taken of it at the enr office in Hay River.
  7. Just thought y'all would like to know they are advertising 75% off everything this Thursday through Saturday. Moving Sale
  8. I'm in Yellowknife and pay $0.89 L Just checked my last bill and it's not as bad as I thought. Actual price is $0.8445 L
  9. Congrats!!!! I just realized that today the 10th of January is the anniversary of my quitting!! Been 13 years since i quit and I have no cravings or wishes to ever pick up a smoke again!!!
  10. I used to have a Whisker SS and it was a good reel. I however still like my Zebco Cardinal 4 better. I mostly use my Quantun PTI these days though.
  11. Neither. Wanted to get the pike fishing done and am waiting for the days to get a little longer as it's a further hike to the laker spots. There are no seasons here to speak of. The road system laker spots are C&R in September and October and a 1 fish limit the rest of the year. All other spots are open year round with different retention limits for Great Slave compared to the rest of the Territory.
  12. Yep, I was fishin' Toronto Island can't you tell?
  13. Good on ya!!! I remember back in the day I would hit the river every chance I got. I particularly remember one frosty February day. Was fishing in -10 temps and standing on an ice shelf in my floater suit and warm boots when the shelf gave way and I ended up in the river!!! I climbed out and continued fishing for about 3 more hours and never had a hit!!! I also couldn't get the two frozen blocks of ice that used to be my boots off either.
  14. That's next on the list Mike. Yeah Roy, I wouldn't want all you Southerners invading my fishin' spots would I.
  15. Wow!!! What a day!!! Awesome warm temps and light tropical breezes and super fast action!!!! I left the house at first light and was set up and fishing about an hour later. Before I could get my jigging line set up I had my first hit on my tip up. After resetting I headed into the hut to continue with my jig stick, I didn't get to far, FLAG!!! I ran back to my tip up second fish. As I was dropping my bait back down I hit another, and another......... It was 45 minutes from the time I dropped my first line before I managed to get my second line in the water. After 3 hours I had iced 20 pike and lossed/missed a bunch more!!! I ended up with about 1/2 dozen over 30" with one over 40". I was fishing solo again today and man that was a lot of work!!! I think I need a rum now. Here's a few pics of the better ones.
  16. Yep, my guess is the brown nosing kissers are the ones still working there.
  17. Yeah, they work great. Puts the grease in between the bearings in stead of trying to force it all through the outer bearing. Does a much better job lubing the inside bearing.
  18. Yeah, but there's no substitute for horse power.
  19. Maybe you forgot about that grow-op you started down in the basement.
  20. Yer not gettin' enough wheel speed on dat ting. Ya needs ta throw on a tubro charger and nitrous system. Could use a free flowing aftemarket exhaust system and a little porting and polishing too. Then it'll get where ya want to go.
