  1. Finished off the fresh air supply for the stove. Got to do some testing out and it draws perfectly!!! Need to try some different pellets as the one's I have are softwood pellets and they don't burn hot enough for my liking. They also produce too much ash which impedes the quality of the burn. Got the stand pipes for the sprinklers installed as well. There's one at each end of the roof.
  2. I had loon swim between my legs when I was in my float tube fly fishing for cutthroat trout in Northern Alberta once. Was pretty cool.
  3. They are larger than the regular dishes to pull in a better signal. One points to 91 the SD SAT and the other to 82 the HD SAT.
  4. Well I won't do that again!!! ?
  5. Why? Are you a black market purveyor of hard to find spoons? ????
  6. A few years ago a friend gave me a few of these Matrix spoons. I finally took them out and gave them a washing behind the boat this summer. I only had one of the large 5"+ ones and caught a ton of trout on it before I lost it due to operator error. ? I looked for replacements but was having a hard time locating them as they seem to be discontinued now. I did manage to locate them and placed an order with SAIL.ca Just checked and there are none of the colours I bought left. Good thing I bought a ton of them. ?
  7. Squirrels and small woodland creatures beware!!!! ???
  8. Got the stove vent and some insulation done this weekend. Just need to anchor the stove to the floor and finish my fresh air intake next weekend. Got a pic of the twins while I was on the roof.
  9. You should gain some top end as well as better performance when loaded. As far as Sinkers claim of Yammies being that much better than Mercs I don't believe it. Sorry Sinker We had Mercs and Yammies and they were equal in performance and reliability. I would not recommend Honda's though as we tried a batch out at one of the lodges and the lower units were much less robust than the Yammies and Mercs. The lower units would blow apart itf you hit rocks while the others would hold up well under most impacts.
  10. 400 hours is not high for 4 stokes. We used 30 hp 4 stoke Mercs up at the lodge I worked at and they probably had 2000 hours or more when they were replaced. I believe once you get over 1200 hours they are starting to get up there.
  11. Dental floss would be my guess. ??
  12. Had a little time to do a few things around the cabin while I waited for the rain to mellow out this morning. Put in a little more insulation and got my scaffolding setup so I can get to installing the chimney for the pellet stove up and running.
  13. I'm installing a pair of agricultural sprinklers on the roof. They will give me 90-100 feet of coverage completely around the cabin.
  14. Last night at the cabin before I head home and back to work. Got the caulking and touch up paint done on the West wall finally. Then I pulled the scaffolding down and started to set up to finish the gable end of the porch roof. Got the laundry room electrical and plumbing roughed in and the insulation done. Also got the washroom electrical and insulation in.
  15. Only rebuilding was the transom this year. Everything else I have done over the years is customization. ?
  16. Have had mine for 28 years now and I have been satisfied. So now you can say you have met one. ?
  17. Got some of the caulking on the West side of the cabin. Also started taking the scaffolding down. Finally got the SAT dishes aimed so I have tee vee now. I got some more plumbing mocked up and worked on my pellet cart that will live in the closet under the stairs. Here's a couple of pics. There's 440#'s of pellets in it. Should be enough for 11 days before needing to refill. Had the drone up and took a few shots.
  18. I didn't think it was possible but today I found a chore worse than painting. Caulking sucks big time!!!! What a horrible job!!! ???
  19. John, bolting on a new axle is super easy. No need to take it to a shop. Jack up trailer, remove wheels, remove the 8 nuts from the U-bolts holding the axle in place, remove axle. Install the new axle in reverse order. Go fishing!!!
  20. It's in Mississauga but Citywide Welding is awesome!!! When I visit Ontario I bring my dinged up props for repair there. There is no one in Yellowknife that does prop repair.
  21. Been raining plus I took 2 days off in town this week as well as a full day of fishing with Dara so haven't got a ton done this week. ? Got the North side of the loft all wired and insulated as well as a good portion of the West wall. Moved my bench and all the tools over to the finished side and got the vaulted ceiling on the South side of the loft insulated. Got a bit of plumbing stared in the West wall as well. Installed plywood on the wall of the storage space under the stairs where the 120 volt and 12 volt electrical panels will go. Painted it up too. On the opposite side of the wall inside the bedroom closet resides the SAT wiring. Still need to aim the dang things. Lastly, I got myself a little fridge so I don't have to worry so much about ice. Built a decent temp shelf to hold it so I could reclaim the pair of sawhorses that were doing the duty previously. Fridge stays cold all night after shutting down the genny at bedtime. Tomorrow is another fishing day with Dara before he flies back South on Monday.
  22. I don't even know if the peddle on my V1 works. Haven't used it since I added copilot. Just use the remote now. ?
  23. Yep, they'll find you someone that will insure you.
