  1. Right!!! Stuff yourself into a cardboard box with one of these Shimano CTE-401's and drop yourself off at the post office and I'll pay for the postage as long as it's not more than a hundred bucks.
  2. That's my problem!!!! I don't own a bait caster newer than the mid 80's!!!!! :rofl2: Still don't think they would work worth beans on slower froggy water though. Maybe the Credit, Ganny etc but can't see it on the lower Willy or Bowmanville S bends.
  3. You need a decent amount of flow in order for the baitcasting setups to work for float fishing. This is why they are popular out West. The rivers out this way are mostly high volume/high gradient waterways that work well with baitcating outfits.
  4. Get used cats from the wreckers as they are probably the spendy part of your system and go from there I would say. Then drive it until it falls apart.
  5. What kind of mileage are you getting Rob?
  6. I had a similar issue on my old Bronco. It turned out to be a rear diff issue. Luckily it was covered under the powertrain warranty as the cost was just over $1k and that was 20 years ago.
  7. I bought a brand new Garmin 120 portable off ebay a few years ago for $120 + delivery. Great little starter or portable unit for little $$$ and it works quite well.
  8. I think you will be OK. I once saw a 12' boat with 5 or 6 people fishing out of it down there one time. I seem to recall 2 adults and 4 kids in the boat. I was standing on the dam at the time. The water is very cold, make sure you wear your PFD. Cold water will kill you in a hurry. One April we were fishing the spring tourney down in St. Kitts out of my buddies 36' sportfish in some 4 footers when a distress call came over the radio. A 20'-22' run about had motor issues and had been swamped by a wave. They got lucky as another boat was very close as they didn't have their PFDs on and were just about ready to let go of the boat because of hypothermia. The could swear they were holding on for a long time, when in actual fact the other boat got to them within 30 seconds!!!!!! The next week they were back with shiny new floater coats and suits!!! They were very lucky to survive as the cold will kill you in a heart beat if you are not wearing your PFD!!!! While you will still be very cold with just a PFD on at least you won't be sinking to the bottom with your lungs full of water. Be safe out there and post pics of the trip.
  9. Or if you don't want to wait around for your leader to straighten just pick up a Fly Fishing Leader Straightener
  10. Stick them on a charger and bring them up to full charge. Hopefully they had a decent charge when you put them away or they might have froze. Check to see if the cases are bulging at all. If they are they probably froze and you will be out purchasing new ones.
  11. Yep!! Drilled though 40" of clear black ice, so it seemed safe enough to me. I figure if it will support a fully loaded tandem tanker truck hauling 38,000 liters of fuel that it would probably support my Honda Pilot pulling my snowmobile.
  12. Not enough!! Good cork costs way more than $10 to build a handle!!! Really good cork is $3-$4 a ring. I have seen factory rods that look like they have nice cork handles, but when you start to disassemble the handle it's a cheap plastic cylinder with 1/8" cork covering!!
  13. The bottom of the lake since the ice sheet has supposedly broken due to wave action.
  14. Cork and if you want warmth cork flocked with nylon fibers!!
  15. And if you live where I do 2 extensions are necessary!!!
  16. That's exactly what came to mind as soon as I saw it!!! That and the fact that it would suck on the tundra!!!
  17. Me too. I had my own business and was putting in 70+ hr weeks until I had enough. Then I moved North got a great job and work 37.5 hrs a week now with the odd OT that I take lieu time so I can have more vacay time. :good: When I live in Ontario my commute times were horrible, now it's 7 or 8 minutes and I get to go home for lunch. I have dozens of local lakes to fish and life is good. All work and no play....................
  18. Mike loses his bloody keys every time we go out!!!!! :wallbash:
  19. HEHEHE!!! I would have towed it to the North end of Couch!!!
  20. CP stands for Center Pin. They are going to install a new steelhead stream beside your house!!! :rofl2:
