  2. He was picked up to fill in for the injured Brown. Toughness is good.............. MKAY!!!
  3. That's AWESOME!!!!! Please tell her to send me a nice laker cake for my B'Day.
  4. Sinclair Here in Yellowknife the town charges to recoup $$$$ from fire calls. One fellow 2 years ago was complaining about the $8000 invoice he was given to cover OT costs for the fire fighters that battled the fire that destroyed his $800,000 house. Even though his insurance would eventually cover the cost.
  5. And pour myself another coffee. As the saying goes: You can't fix stupid!!
  6. I also have a sled for that purpose. Sometimes I trailer it out onto the lake to get to my starting point. I have now problems driving on the ice up here in the North. Wouldn't be doing it very often down South though. Was out on Saturday and our ice was clear, black and 44 inches thick!!!
  7. Nice!!! Shoulda bonked it and claimed the all tackle WR. I have no doubt that weight is accurate. I have the older version of that scale and we tested it against a certified Chatillion scale up at the lodge and found my 50# scale accurate up to 70#'s. I didn't want to go any higher for fear of breaking it.
  8. I do a lot of pike fishing and closed eye is the way to go. I also use 1/2 oz mostly but there are times when lighter ones come in handy.
  9. My LMS-350 Lowrance with GPS would get 12-14 hours per charge on a motorcycle/snowmobile battery. A group 24 deep cycle would give me a week and change.
  10. All I see is a cop trying to arrest someone and the guy is resisting arrest. Don't know what caused the initial problem but who's to say the kid didn't spit in the cops face? I'm sure the investigation will get all the info out there.
  11. Could be a GB fish. I have caught them to 11#'s out of Owen Sound and Meaford.
  12. And if you're going to go out on thin ice please take safety equipment. Jim Hudson a Lake Superior guide died today when he went through the ice while guiding.
  13. Drilled through 44" of clear black ice on Great Slave today. Only drilled 3 holes before I was whipped. Been fighting a bad infection for 2 months now and my staying power seems to be down a few notches. Barely had enough energy to jig after I was set up.
  14. Nice going Steve!!! 3 3/4" huh? I drilled through 44" today!! Didn't have much in the way of luck though.
  15. Filled my 5#er today @ Superior Propane here in Yellowknife for $5.75. It's $16-$18 for the 20#er. The resellers in town are way more $$$$.
  16. Exactly, I think he's a little out of game shape after the injury is all. A little conditioning and he will be back.
  17. I use inexpensive Cabelas ones when I get single tails and the Mr. Twister ones for my split double tails. Now I tend to spend more $$$ when buying my tubes.
  18. Warming all the way up to -24 here tomorrow!!! Then back down to -30 on Tuesday.
  19. Saturday night. And it's on CBC so no complaining until Tuesday nights game on Leafs TV.
  20. I actually like the split double tails the best. With white being my best option and yellow second.
  21. The last thing that got shipped UPS to me was my Marcum LX-5. Living in the NWT with no local UPS was a blessing. The package was shipped UPS and transferred to Buffalo Air to be delivered. A few weeks later I got an invoice from UPS down South for $75 in brokerage fees. I tore it up and threw it away. Haven't heard a peep since!!!!
  22. That beautiful piece of defending by Liles brought a tear to my eye.
