no way it's set in stone, there's 20+ games left, the Leafs have been trending downwards, after Saturday the habs could be 1 point behind the Leafs funny how the talk in the media is the Leafs have to add toughness and grit, it's far too late, you can't do this with a deadline trade or two, you have to build your team around the mentality that toughness is important, that ship has sailed, this is probably the softest team in Leafs history I would way prefer to have Matt Martin on the ice instead of pylons Gauthier or Marleau Tom Wilson showed his worth tonight, on and off the scoreboard.

aside from the initial onslaught, I thought the Leafs were the better team

only 3 penalties in the game, all are marginal, discretionary bull crap calls and all 3 go against the Leafs? with the Leaf's speed in this game? blowing by blues defenceman? I saw tons of interference and hooking/ slashing they could have called on the blues, it could easily have made the difference in the game

I thought it might be fun to take the family on a road trip on March break and watch the Leafs in ottawa. I checked, the crappiest seats are $180 each, so no thanks. Interesting though, a couple days earlier, we could see St Louis/ sens for $29 a ticket, lol, and that's on March break! Unless the Leafs are in town, they can't give the tickets away. What a disgusting blemish ottawa and the sens are on Canadian hockey.

Exciting times! Do your research, you're not in a rush. I like being on a well, septic bed and wood burning at my cottage. My only fixed cost is hydro and property tax.

Nope, I've slandered Sparks since the preseason. To me it's obvious he's not comfortable, he's nervous and having trouble with his confidence. I understand it would be giving up on a prospect but I don't want him starting anymore games and costing us points. here's a stat, last year the Leafs won 78% of games when they scored 1st, Sparks let his first one in at 28 seconds on Sunday, lol

Ok, I was thinking the landowner might possibly be giving permission to more than one guy or party, sounds like it's more regulated down there I think up here it's more common a hunter gets verbal permission and greases the landowner a bit, a bottle and a homemade pie at Christmas, some sausages after the hunt, helps him out when he can, stuff like that
-
The guy that made the video was being a little aggressive considering he only leases the property, he doesn't actually own it. Awhile back I was prospecting on private property during rifle season in November. Holy crap did the land owner come at me hard and he was in a rage. He assumed that I was hunting. Rifle season is a pretty big deal.

I agree. Going down 2 goals quickly changes the momentum and mentality of the game. How long will management keep playing Sparks? It's obvious he isn't working out.

damn those guys, but it was an even game from teams that look similar but that's why we pay JT $11 JMO but I don't like shaw on Muzzin and benn on Kadri and gallager snowing Freddie, wish we had a guy like McLaren to threaten to feed them their own teeth on national TV

No brainer for me, to let go would be Zaitsev, Hainsey, Brown, Gardiner Nylander is good but not nearly close to $7 mill good, and God willing please let Marleau and his contract disappear before next season
-
This game is huge, diggin boys and leave it all on the ice!
-
Crosby could make $17 mill? The Pens, Hawks and Kings have all won a few cups recently with 5 guys accounting for more than 50% of the cap.

Ennis and Lindholm are cheap, why would they have to go? Those are the kind of players we need, cheap, but can still play an effective role. There is creative ways to do things. Remember the Orpik trade- https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/orpiks-team-friendly-deal-with-capitals-one-month-after-trade-buyout-raises-eyebrows

When I was in the Yukon I heard quite a few locals say they prefer a winter in Whitehorse compared to a winter in Vancouver based on the dry/ damp cold thing
-
yep, you called it, even guaranteed it, cheers, I'm looking forward to tomorrow night, it's been a long 8 days of Leaf deprivation and we also get to see our new D Man in action.

Left or right retrieve and left or right handed person
chris.brock replied to Canuck's topic in General Discussion
My brother always reeled with his right on his bait casters. He bought a left hand retrieve bait caster for a good deal when Burns was going out of business. He said it wasn't a big deal and didn't take too long to switch over and feel comfortable. -

Adam, my point is, put whatever line you want on a cheap bait caster, it's not going to work well with any line The op said he had low end reel so all this discussion of line and backing is pretty much a waste of time' I've tried and owned low end bait casters, money down the toilet. I'm a Shimano guy and I think a Curado is the starting point for a bait caster, that said, the Curado is still an awesome piece of machinery that could keep someone happy for a life time.

I haven't heard of anybody flying in with them, or anybody who's stayed at their drive in, it must be mostly American clientele. It would be a good idea to check out Air Dale and Hawk Air for comparison. All 3 fly out from Hawk Junction.

I don't know if any of you guys have found the slapshot diaries, but there's some interesting, sometimes shocking, first hand, honest short stories about life in the NHL. Luckily, my helmet had fallen over my face as they beat like crazy on me. When I managed to look up, I see our goalie, Jim Armstrong, who was probably the toughest guy on our team. I look up and he just flattens one of the Adduono brothers. The other Adduono brother two-hands him over the head and basically knocks Armstrong unconscious. The first of the Adduono brothers skates over his face as he is laying on the ice cutting him for thirty stitches. The second period ends and we just get on the bus and go home. a few of my favorites- http://slapshotdiaries.com/brad-delgarno-the-fight/ http://slapshotdiaries.com/the-rage-in-john-brophy/

seems like the consensus, me included, is original power pro with mono backing I think all this chat might be a waste of time because a cheap baitcaster just won't work well, period IMO you've gotta spend $200 plus for a baitcaster or don't even bother, I'd say look for a Curado, new or used
-
Well, Jack must of liked you a lot more than he liked me, lol, he didn't give me any tips a little gruff initially but a good guy though once you get to know him, I liked him and our conversations

Hey Babs, if you're listening, put Marleau on the 4th line and leave him there, give the 4th line a lot less minutes, and move up Moore
