You know you're hooked on Bass fishing when...

You call your kid 'smallmouth', because even when he smiles widely his lips still don't reach past his eyes. -
Checked this on-line and it's legit. Tim Bosma, the vehicle you're looking for is a 2007 black Dodge Ram 3500 with the licence plate 726-7ZW. Seems he's been abducted by people who said they wanted to buy it. Further details: http://www.thespec.com/news-story/2555433-hamilton-man-missing-police-seek-help-locating-tim-bosma-32/

What the heck is this place?? When in doubt... Ask OFC!

You will notice that there is a large sign, facing the highway, that says HALTON HILLS (in your final picture). That makes it all clear. Obviously the Township of Halton Hills has decided to save money on politicians wages, and simply install a large hot air generator. -

Unless they make some changes, and fast, they will win no more than 70 games, possibly no more than 60. They are, in a word, pathetic, and embarrassing to watch. Fans have no right to expect a team to win every game, and no right to expect a winning season every year. But we have every right to expect them to go out and at least play like winners. They aren't even coming close to that. I've heard that the guys aren't getting down on themselves, and the clubhouse is upbeat. That may be part of the problem. They have no reason to feel upbeat, they should be feeling like crap, mad as hell with themselves, and willing to get mad at each other. They have no excuse at all for any rosy "Oh, everything will be okay, we just have to go on a winning streak" attitude. They also need to be on the receiving end of a lot of boos and chants of AAAAAAARRRRGOOOOOOOSSSS! The time for fan patience is over, as their season probably is. -
Some of you may remember my question last year about the motor itself. It was running a little weird, starts fine, but RPM drops when I twist the throttle all the way, and it runs better with the choke out. I need to get it apart and give it a good cleaning, check the filter, etc. What I may do is just take it for a good long run and use up all the gas, and then do the maintenance. Could be the gas, could be the system needs a cleanout, could be the filter needs replacing, could be could be could be... I'm a complete newbie at this so things might involve a lot of swearing. May need to pick up a maintenance manual from somewhere.

For some reason (probably stupidity on my part) this got posted in the Contests category. So I'll ask again here, where it should be. I need to get rid of the fuel that my father-in-law has had in the tank for a few years, and a bonfire is not an option. Any suggestions? Roy suggested using it, in small quantities, in my car. That was my original idea, but I don't have containers to hold it in and I don't want to buy another tank.

Red-necked grebe, winter plumage. They're not the only ones who make mistakes, I've heard a credible witness who found a dead Great Blue heron with a stick lodged in its throat after mistaking it for a fish. We don't have the insult 'bird brain' for nothing. -

Looks to me as if they bought into all the hype, and think they're the reincarnation of the '27 Yankees. They've got a great bunch of individuals, but instead of going out and making it all come together by playing as a team, they're waiting for it to all come together by itself. Ain't gonna happen. Wondering if Gibby is about to go on a Lee Elia style rant. For those unfamiliar, here's a link, definitely not safe for work: -

Frenchmans Bay in Pickering. There's a launch at the sandbar at the southwest end, off Beachpoint Promenade, or from the east side at the north end of Progress Frenchmans Bay East Park on Front Road.

Garbage, nothing was 'changed'. Anyone with a high-school knowledge of science will understand that warming the atmosphere will cause climate change, the two go together, and have for billions of years. And Gore has nothing to do with it, global warming was first predicted about 150 years ago.
-
Global warming = climate change. No reputable climate scientist claims that the warming will be evenly distributed. Some areas may actually get colder and wetter, and some computer models are suggesting that the notheastern quarter of North America may be one such area. Sucks to be us.

Whoa, that's a fair sized bundle, don't think I've ever seen that many at once. The other night at Spencer Smith Park in Burlington there was a flotilla of 300-400 ruddy ducks, first time I've seen that many as well.

If I can paddle it, can I fish it?
Dave Bailey replied to passthepitonspete's topic in General Discussion
Oh, let's not be so hasty about not standing up for our rights. Otherwise they may be lost. If someone tells you that you cannot fish where you plainly can, and they have no authority to tell you, don't just give in. -

As far as I know it changed the definition of 'navigable waterway', but I don't think it has anything to do with fishing. -

Politely apprise the landowner of the fact that they cannot own the water. If they persist, enlighten them about the law. I carry two copies of this with me at all times, just in case the person tears up the first one after I hand it to them (which hasn't happened yet): Fish & Wildlife Act 1997 Obstruction of hunting, trapping or fishing 13. (1) A person shall not interfere with lawful hunting, trapping or fishing by, a) tampering with traps, nets, bait, firearms or any other thing used for hunting, trapping or fishing; b ) placing himself or herself in a position, for the purpose of interfering, that hinders or prevents hunting, trapping or fishing; or c) engaging in an activity, for the purpose of interfering, that disturbs or is likely to disturb wildlife or fish. Notice without authority (2) A person shall not purport to give notice that entry to premises is prohibited for the purpose of hunting or fishing or that hunting or fishing is prohibited on premises unless the person has authority to give the notice. 1997, c. 41, s. 13. -
Bright sunlight can give you other difficulties, such as harsh contrast. We just need to work with the conditions instead of against them.
