  1. My favourite combo that I use is my BPS carbonlite 6'6 spinning rod with my abu garcia 601 real. This setup is very sensitive and I can cast with it all day as it is very light. Fairly reasonable too. I drop shot with it, throw senkos with it and throw cranks as well. I would like to have a 7'0 crucial with a stratic Ci4 2500 size
  2. Abu Garcia Veritas. Easy. $79.99 at sail or bps.
  3. I typically use 15 pound braid with a 6ft 8 pound fluoro leader. I have used 6 pound in the past but find it breaks easily, not from fish but from being compromised by rocks and muscles on bottom. Too many reties. When fishing 30 ft in the fall I don't believe that 8 pound will make too much difference compare to 6 pound.
  4. Stop hatin!!! That is a big fish people and I could care less how close you hold it or what camera you use. It is a BIG FISH! Enough said. Congrats
  5. It is very cool but it originates from another story written by a high school student in the states about the next generation. Nonetheless, it is cool!
  6. Caught this about 3 weeks ago in Kbay. It is the biggest goby I have ever seen. It went 7 inches and was fat. These things are going to start eating adult perch soon!!!!!
  7. Here are a couple of pics from about 23 years ago. the first pic is of me and a hen taken from the Notty in Angus. Well into the river. The second pic is of my father and a big Lake Otario fish taken about a mile out in Port Credit. My fish is a Georgian Bay female in the river and my dad's is a Lake O male taken in the lake. So it goes to show that it really depends on several factors as to the how silver the fish may be.
  8. I went to UW and spent a number of nights at the high school down the street (WLU). Lots to do but you do need to get tickets asap if you are going to do this. THere are several big event areas, best to choose one. You basically go to one event each night. Don't try to do more.
  9. Although bootish, it is a big fish. I wouldn't mind the battle. Ugly but big (the fish) Bill you look great.
  10. LOL. Shhhh!!
  11. riggers. I have them on my boat, I just hide them under the back seat. The best part is that I decided to run a Strike king KVD 2.5 square bill crankbait in sexy shad colour on one rod and it actually caught Jon's second laker. lol, i love those lures
  12. Got out for a few hours this morning and managed 3 lakers and herring. Jaydub with big fish of the day at 9.7 pounds. Nice fish. Mine went 7.8 and his second was 5.7 pounds. Nice morning out on the lake. I haven't seen it so flat out there in a long time.
  13. I have caught walley on slammers drop shotting
  14. LOL I am laughing because your drop shot setup is worth same amount of $ as my boat.
  15. Man!!!! I will be angry for you because you have things to focus on. Jen is still in my prayers.
  16. perch. I remember fishing over 90' of water and marking tons of fish at 50'. I decided to try the 50' depth and found them to be schools of perch.
  17. Nice haul. Those locos work too!
  18. Nice fish! Where is this lake of which you speak? Is it near Lake Couchiching Orillia? Just messin with ya. Nice ghoti
  19. X-Zone Slammers for the win. 7' st croix US REEL 230 sx 15 pound PP with a 10' 8# fluoro leader. Swammers are awesone ice baits. My go to on the hardwater.
  20. I am calling Bull on the weight. Maybe 5 pounds 10 and half ounces. JK! LOL! Nice Hawg! Congrats on the PB!
  21. I bet it tasted ok. Fish crisp and deep fried. Finger lickin good y'all!
  22. Body is totally largemouth and marking asre largemouth but I agree that the stipes from the eyes down look smallie. Interesting. Nice job.
  23. Nice on Rob! Lol
  24. Cool! I tried to lookup Wheir firearms london and found nothing. Maybe I mispelled it. I guess maybe they were a small manufacturer?? thanksfor the help. I will keep you posted on the situation.
  25. Thanks to everyone here with your suggestions. Backbay, you have been really helpful. A couple of days ago I did take the barrel off and I did find the proofs. It is an english gun most likely as it had 2 Birmingham proofs on it. Both were the same a crown with an X or swords crossing under it. No other words or letters on it though except for what appears to be the W with a crown on it at the top of the barrel. Here are the pics for all those interested. The gus is very used as much of its engraving is very fine or rubbed off completely. I suspect there were manufacturer imprints on it before but I can't find them Here is the top and only visible writing on the gun a W I believe with a crown on it Here are what I believe are the Birmingham proofs. Now I want to find out the manufacturer
