  1. You may use a part of the perch for bait. Do not use a part of the perch that you would eat. Also you must keep the perch the you cut up and keep the flesh to eat. use belly strips and eyes. Legal as long as you don't damage edible flesh and you keep the fish.
  2. Awesome Ryan!
  3. It was caught on 10 pound test mono. 7ft rod.
  4. Try a 27 pounder!! It was a load. Here is what a 27 pound catfish looks like with a J-11 in its mouth
  5. We accidently got a 12 pounder and a 27 pound catfish on the same day ytolling a orange j-11 rapala in a river. Was surprised at this. those are some pretty strong fish. I actually have some pics somewhere with the lure still in his mouth.
  6. nice
  7. CTC in Barrie has stupid crazy reels and some are great prices this reel costs 129.99 which is about $20 cheaper than I can find online http://www.google.ca/url?source=imglanding&ct=img&q=http://img.tacklewarehouse.com/new_product/QESSCR-1.jpg&sa=X&ei=BlAKUK3xOK-26QHS1e33CQ&ved=0CAwQ8wc&usg=AFQjCNEg2_CXbO39ZC9hLs74jkL2F68dUw
  8. Nice trucks guys. White is my favourite colour for cars, black is the best colour when it is clean and that brown colour you got on your sport is sweet. Tybo, one word...... Aztek enough said about that lol
  9. Caught a smallie the other day and he puked up a good sized gobie. I also did fairly well opening weekend on Simcoe hooking into about 8 smallies but not yesterday. Also on opening day I pulled a smallie off a bed in 1.8 ft of water under lily pads. That was odd. I immediately released him in case he was still actually guarding the nest. I was actually so close to him when I caught him that I had a good look around to see if any of his fry were around. I did not see any so I threw to him.
  10. Nice fish. THey look clean. You should put something beside the fish for a reference so people can realize just how big those beauties are.
  11. Ok, I got out this morning with my dad for a few hours and I hit up 3 of my spots that always produce. Things are not the same. Can't put my fnger on it but fish are not where tey usually are. I caught only 2 smallies this morning and 1 was a dink. I only caught 4 perch and usually I catch like 25. Every rock is covered in slimy weed and again I see no crayfish. I saw 1 smallie cruising where I would usually see 15 in a day. Next time I am out I am going to have to check out 2 other smallie spots. Anyone else who chases the smalljaw on simcoe noticing any oddities?
  12. I have used fireline before in both the black(smoke or whatever) and crystal. I find it to be very stong but does not cast like pp. I am a regular PP user but both the crystal and regular and tracer braid is on for $15 at CTC. I have a bunch of CTC money so I was wondering which is better? The smoke, the crystal or tracer braid. The tracer braid looks so bright I can't see myself using it. Chime in here especially if you are a regular fireline user.
  13. Maybe it is a bronze whaler but its shape actually makes it look like a Great white
  14. The type of shark was a BFS. Big Freakin Shark. It jumped so I guess maybe a Mako. I am going to try and pause it to see if I can Identify it.
  15. I want to write something witty and cool here but I am kind of speechless. The quality of fish porn you post is just on another level. Your vid was good too. thanks for posting. Makes me want to spend the whole summer there.
  16. I used to have issues with frogs but not anymore. I use a 7'6 heavy rod with 50 lb braid and a 7.1:1 ratio reel. It is difficult to set hook like you should in a yak. When I set hook I cross their eyes. I would have switched to a texas rigged senko if the frogs were not hooking up. Cool view from camera for sure.
  17. 3 for 5 but I lost a monster. It was pulling drag and I have my drag locked down. I set the hook really well too. It was a tank. Would have loved to have seen it but no go. The fish weren't at my spot so I had to move. I did not go out in boat but simply fished off docks. Went out for less than 2 hours. Mosquitoes were stupid but I dressed for the occasion. I can bring by a few samples of those spinnerbaits if you want. Let me know.
  18. Not to hijack this thread but BillM, Frank can make you whatever spinnerbait you want. I love his spinnerbaits. Northam spinnerbaits. I believe they are now called big hit lures. http://www.northamfishing.com/ I have several 3/4 oz and 1 oz spinnerbaits from him. He lives in Barrie and I go to his place once in a while. If you want we can go and talk to him.
  19. cool. And a WGSF to boot
  20. Call Otter Box. I kow kids at school call them and tell them their box is broken and they get a new one sent out no questions asked. They have good customer service. It might be worth a call and see what they can do about the phone
  21. Oh, the fun was all there, it was the fin that was missing. LOL. Nice fish. I want to catch one of those.
  22. It is the format we always use. It is pretty fun when everybody in the boat has 2 species each that are the same then all of a sudden someone hooks a rock bass out of nowhere. lol. that is a 20 point fish. Here is the scoring. 10 points for each species and a bonus 10 points if that is the biggest fish of that species. Ties are broken by the overall biggest fish.
  23. Nice fish. Love its colours. Reminds me a smallies from the west arm. I guess that is why they are called black bass. I once caught a 5.2 pound largie and I didn't post its weight because it looked like a 3.5 pound fish.
  24. Yeah, my wife is awesome. Just need to tell her more often. She is pretty too. And smart. haha
