I was thinking something like what the walker/runners use. I just remembered I have a GPS unit some where. Need to get my thinking cap on to where it could be.

The wind forecast and chance of rain today, had me thinking twice. Travel or just go and play. Well , I did play. Guess if your fishing and getting a good work out,it,s playing. .The west wind was making it a tougher work out then I thought it would be, but I managed just fine.. Traveled a good distance with just flipping and rowing. (told ya all. The electric will have it,s place.) The toon is becoming an addiction. I can say this, it has made me feel better about myself. No different then the tube,but I can travel further with the toon. Two UL rod combos and one tray of tubes was all I was taking this morning. Just that,my flippers and oars. I did some serious distance this morning, as you can see by the red line on the map.. The green line is my next trek. I want to do this run before lakers and whities close,,as I,ll be crossing over some good waters heading from Johnsons beach back to Minets point. Hope it,s calm waters for jigging. If not,well atleast i did what I set out to do. So,is there something that will give me distance traveled ? (not looking at spending big bux) BTW,FISHING SUCKED., The water is cooling off fast. Probly take a few days for the fish to adapt to the temperature change.

These weather reports are getting so bogus these days. High winds from the south by 9 am were called for.. Not really a concern here, as the south shore will be protected. Plan was, if to bad to hit the lake,then fly fishing the streams was the plan. Up at 4 am, the front tree is dancing. Hmmmm. I had told terry I would txt him when I get to the water and see whats up in the morning. Can you say,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Never mind. The bay was glass. High winds on the hill,and not a breath down on the bay. So txt him, lets fish. Back and forth we go. Boat or toons? I said lets boat. Winds may pick up later. We head out and hit one of my favorite bass spots on the bay.(Where I got my first PB 6lb) The last few years, it has not really been that good. Not sure why. it looks just like it has for 15 years. Sand patches,weeds,nice drop off. And it is still not that good. One fish and one missed by boat side that Terry swears, was a 8+ pounder. The look on his face I have to believe him. Quickly throw tubes around to see if it would hit,but to no avil. So we head to try some down riggn.. Lets say there were words used that cannot be shared here on this family site. When you see the depth finder shots,and say to yourselves,you guys caught no fish out there? NO WAY. Oh ya,no way dudes. UNREAL. Pics from this days fishing. A clean fat nickle. OOPS me bad. Have not seen Rob in many years,but a super nice guy. Max (Mattaw) is as well. He bought my tube a few ago. I take it he loves it from his reply back a few days later.LOL I too need to find time to get up and fish from his invite.

I will be trying the nano this fall for the first time. I,m a Raven hi vis guy. My peeps are not the best,thats why I use it. My leads are floro. I should be able to see the nano white line. Unless in fishing in a snow blizzard.LOL

I,m sure this is a long shot BUT, I have to ask. I am working on a new contraption and need to find a certain part that will play a major part for it. You all know those extending fishing nets right? I am looking for that spring loaded ball locking thing. Has anyone ever seen these? Is there a name for them? Anyone know where I can buy? I could use locking ball pins,but it,s not practical, I would have to attach them to 24 inch lanyards, Well I don,t, but, if I drop one in the drink,then it,s gone and I,m left without one that I will really need for the set up. (note to self,keep roll of duct tape on toon) . Anyways I did up a shady paint drawing. Two tubes that slide over each other,and the spring loaded ball secures it in place Thanks for looking and hope you can help. Like I said,maybe a long shot. It would save on more fabrication.
