  1. I walked the shore's of lake Scugog today. The rain was not the problem today it was finding the bass and getting them to bite. I only caught 1 bass that weighed 2.7lbs. I caught this fish not far from of 10 feet off shore using one of my Origional Fishing Snakes. I also used a white spinnerbait, rapala husky jerk, some yum dingers and a x-rap shad and i caught nothing, not even a bite! Then i tied on one of my snakes and went to the weedy area's and that is where i got my bass and 2 other good hits. Next time i will put batteries in the camera O well i had a fun time and caught a nice fish! I am going there again tomorrow, any suggestions or techniques i might want to try? Mike
  2. I already have clown the pattern x-rap at home. As for the perch pattern I'm going to stick with the Husky Jerk Minnow. The Purple Ghost and the Gold worked well for me last year up at Lake Seymour....but I lost them both. Thanks i didn't relize the size of that lure, I changed it to the HJ12. Of coarse I have those spinnerbaits. Both are in the tackle box. I have only used them for a short time this year, i never really caught anything on them yet.....i guess because i dont use them. I might make room to get another spinnerbait. Any suggestions for a brand? Thanks for the info everyone, I am slowly making changes.
  3. Either tomorrow or sunday i am going to Lake Scugog to do a little shore fishing. I have not been here since early July. Are there any bass around the shoreline right now, have all the weeds and pads died off. Any help and or ideas to help me to catch some bass. I would love to use my topwater snakes this weekend and hammer some largemouths but again not sure if the fish are still there. Thanks in advance for any help. Mike

  6. Congratulations to both of you, thanks for sharing!
  7. Im not sure if i will try it this year but possibily next year. Thanks for the info:) .
  8. Is that true, lol. I have not heard that before.
  9. Welcome
  10. This baitcast reel is one i am getting shortly after christmas. Read the reviews on the reel and im sure this would be a great choice for you if you do heavy cover fishing for bass, even use it for buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. Find a nice heavy action rod you like and you will be all set. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s...artNumber=97963 And It's On SALE!
  11. Outstanding fish you guys caught. Congrads
  12. Nice report, thanks for sharing!
  13. Nice report and congrads on all the fish caught!
  14. When i get fishing line i almost always purchase a 300 yard spool of it, and this will do about 2 reels with 20+yards of line left over. I think next year i am going to get a 1000yard spool of fishing line, but what do you do with the extra line i have right now?
  15. Good job man, very nice looking fish.
  16. Great report, very nice looking pike, and the bass too. Thanks for sharing!
  17. Good luck out there!
  18. Nice fish, thanks for sharing
  19. again with the 6lb deal for a bass. No that is not going to be a "average" bass size on any lake.(maybe if there was only 1 fish there) Again a 6lb bass is a HUGE fish. I myself have never caught a 6lb bass before and i would love to see a picture of a 6lb bass from one of these "backwater" lakes. As for the fall fishing for bass i would say slow down the action of lures you are fishing and go deeper as the weeds die off.
  20. Looks like a great time out, thanks for sharing!
  21. Thats amazing man, nice bass. And on a Rapala too
  22. Nice job!
  23. Might get this, my other tackle box is a little heavy and this would be a lot easier to carry around. It is the Plano Softsided Tackle Bag, Large $39.99 at Canadian Tire http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_...fromSearch=true
