Met up with urbanangler today again and decided to try for some more carp action. We got alot of hits and misses. But just couldn't get into the big fish. So I took some pics above water and underwater life. Most of the carp we caught were like 3-5 pounds. So we felt it wasn't worth taking pictures of. Here's some interesting shots of sunfish and bluegills. And ducklings bathing in the sun. I saw this guy swim by. Hey urbanangler this was the bass I saw swim by. Good luck to everyone for the bass opener this weekend 23rd?. Always thought it was the last weekend of June. But I was told this weekend. But then again can't remember when fished for bass last time anyways. Always been after carp since I can remember. dsn

I have caught one (smallmouth) at the islands. Last year. it was only about 7 inches long. The guide is great but the fish aren't there all the time. Everything depends on timing and the seasonal weather patterns. If you know the seasonal trend when the fish will be there thats the key. dsn

Hey OO7 sorry I couldn't make it. But hey you did great!! Maybe one of thses days we can meet up and I'll show you where the big boys live on the island if you want to play with a fish in the high 20's to 30's. As for line.. I prefer fireline black 14lb test. For mono I have used berkley vanish transition 8lb test. It worked great for me. But I find that mono sometimes catches the wind too much on a windy day and I can't see or feel the hits before the fish runs. I find that fireline after its worked in a bit becomes very limb and cuts through the wind easier. Which make detecting the bite easier. I've tried power pro but didn't like them either. It all about Preference. As for a mirro carp I have seen two in the GTA. One last year and one this year. I have been chasing it for awhile now but this guy is smarter than your regualr common carp. dsn

I know that theres supposed to severe weather today. But right now its extremely windy here where I 'm at. Steeles west. The winds have been scarey if you ask me. This is my first time here in this section of the city. And I can see everything from clouds rolling in, to heavy down pours. Nothing right now tho just extreme winds. dsn

Not sure if any one posted this yet... Massive clean up is under way and they actually shceduled pick up days for the dead carp. Cause theres so many of them they can't clean them up all in shot. Check it out in the following link.... Star.

Hey ccmtcanada Great report. I like your reports better than mine. You seem to adventure out more than I do. My reports are just quick and not much detail. You hike through bushes and do the night fishing thing. That's amazing. I have never done a night carp outing before. I probably won't either cause I know I'll get eaten alive. But I hear so much they bite more at night or are more active. dsn
