  1. Yeah I saw one about a foot long... it was in really bad shape. Must had very rough s_x. It had some damage on the head and a damage on the tail end. They both appeared white looking down through the water. dsn
  2. Bummer I would love to help. Would be a interesting thing to learn to do. But with a sore back and no ride. It's the pits. Anything to get out to of the GTA its worth it . Have fun dsn
  3. Look at the water level in this pic above. Those who fish the island know that those steps of concret are usually above water level. Because of the water level, it's taking a bit longer to warm up. I warned her not to lay her eggs there but "NO......." They don't listen. And we are do for rain or a thunderstorm today. dsn Heres the catfish pic I found it.
  4. I'll save you the trip. No fish to be found cause there are no green weeds anywhere as of yet from wards island to hanlans point. "Not even a carp to be found." Which was what I was looking for. Give til May. They try again. dsn
  5. There's no pain at all. When it first happend it was just alot of tingling going on. I did a search online and found that some other people had the samething. They also did the samething resting their elbows on the computer table. Their doctor's told them to stop doing it. And when they did, a few weeks later the tingling sensation was gone and her fingers turned out fine. I tough if I have stopped resting my elbow on the table the samething would happen but it didn't. The tingling has gone. I believe the tingling was lack of blood flowing to the finger or fingers. But everyone is right I should get a second opinion. Thanks dsn
  6. Well with a slightly sore back but managable and a pinched nerve which cause my pinky finger to curl and I can't seem to straighten it out. But before it was tingling for a long time. I went to my doc but he said there wasn't anything he could do. So back out carping I went. Recently I checkout the island but nothing was happening there so I went back to where things were happening. I prefer bigger fish cause they fight harder but I guess these little guys will do. Sinced I fished this location already this year they were waiting for me. It didn't take long before... Once again hair rigs didn't work this time still sluggish on the hits. Had to use the thinnest hook I could find and I think it was a number 6 that did the trick. Thats my pinky finger which I have a hard time trying to straighten out. And the finger beside that. I'll never rest my elbow on the table beside my laptop again. Doc said it will take a long time before it gets any better. The release...It would be tough to lift anything heavier cause without my two fingers I have very little striength to hold anything up for long. So when I go out for the bigger fish.. "I might need a landing buddy" "Any volunteers?" This guy was chubby from all the corn I tossed in there. I took this last pic cause I thought it was cool to see the reflection of the swan in the water. Time to bring out the buzzers and banksticks !! Gonna be toasty day coming up soon. Enjoy it!! dsn
  7. From what I have found in the past is that... once the carp find the food they will hang around longer. I was telling an OFC'er that last year I chummed a place before the carp started to appear. And once they started to appear they were around the chumming location already. I chummed the hole 2 more times early in the season (April) and even tried to get one to hit but because of the massive weedbed my rig wouldn't sink to the bottom. So I didn't connect with any fish but they were feeding right on bottom. I could see them with their tails up. The fish hung around through out the entire summer months (May, June, July, August) even after I stopped chumming the spot. They just hung around. I ran into another guy who was fishing and he said to me "The carp all seem to hang around this one area. I Don't know why?" I just looked at him and smiled and said thats strange and walked away. So yeah it does work!! dsn
  8. I decided to check out the island for some April/Spring Monsters but the water level was a foot higher everywhere. No fish was seen anywhere. However I did chum my usual spots But the Fares for the Ferry across the island has changed from $6.00 to $6.50 and the Spring Schedule takes effect April 18th. dsn info changes
  9. Glad you have good time out there. And that you decided to play it safe. I was out recnelty chumming and spot I have never fished before during the thunderstorm is was a weird feeling fireing a bait rocket while there is lightening. I guess the cats knew it was safer underwater while there is storm above. So buffet time !! The last cat looks bigger and I guess she or he was rolling in the bushes dsn
  10. Yeah make them snappy, and head out for some fun. The guys are out there just have to find them. dsn.
  11. Sounds good to me, see yah out there. dsn
  12. Yeah it's going to take a few days chumming then well see what gathers. Chummin starts tomorrow. Going to need my heavier gear I guess for this place!!! dsn
  13. Last year I was out in April 23rd, when I started searching carp. This year the bite is early in the GTA. April 8th. This is just a trail. Even tho they weren't finicky. They where hitting but I had to change up a few times to find out what size were thier mouths. I wasn't able to set the hook. First I had a hook that was too small then I changed up and the hook was too big. Tried a medium size hook. Still kept missing them. Changed and took off the hair and went directly to a single medium size "thin wire" hook with no hair rig and then the fight was on. Didn't stay out for long. I'm making plans to try out a new honey hole where the monsters lurk. Time to make-up ground bait and all the other goodies. dsn
  14. Yep. give it one more week then I'm going to be hunting them down. Spring carp means huge monsters loaded with roe and can weight 35+ I won't be holding them this year. dsn

  20. If anyone is interested, No Frills has The Green Giant Kernel Canned corn On sale for $1.00 normally it's $1.27. I was there picking up a few things from their $1.00 sale and noticed the corn on sale so I stocked up for the summer months to come. I would use maize but I have no ride and no place to store and ferment such experimental toxic projects like that. dsn

  22. I knew this threat would come, So was ready to take some shots. I looked out the window around 10-10:30pm like they said on the weather network. I couldn't even find the moon it was so dark. I ended missing out. But I knew the folks here would have great shots like always. Thanks for showing them dsn
  23. As long as we don't lose all the ice but the snow on Lake simcoe I'm happy. Don't need the snow just the ice. So bring on the rain or freezin rain. dsn
  24. I have the Eagle Fish Mark 320 Portable.. I thinks it's great had for 2 yrs now. I stuck with the Eagle cause before this, I had the Eagle Ultra II Portable and I had that for for 5-6 yrs maybe more and had no problems with it. So when it came time to upgrade..I stuck with Eagle. But My Eagle is a grayscale. Not Color. Although Color does look nicer and the images do stand out beter against a white background. dsn
