  11. I know some guys do and use leadcore or copper to get the lures down. Personally, I do not target deeper than 25-30' due to mortality concerns.

  15. The more power the better.....especially on windy days. I have an 80lb on my 16.5 Alumacraft and love the extra power. So, buy as much power as your budget will allow.
