A father passing by his son's bedroom was astonished to see that his bed was nicely made and everything was picked up. Then he saw an envelope, propped up prominently on the pillow that was addressed to 'Dad.' With the worst premonition he opened the envelope with trembling hands and read the letter. Dear Dad: It is with great regret and sorrow that I'm writing you. I had to elope with my new girlfriend because I wanted to avoid a scene with Mum and you. I have been finding real passion with Stacy and she is so nice. But I knew you would not approve of her because of all her piercing, tattoos, tight motorcycle clothes and the fact that she is much older than I am. But it' s not only the passion, ...Dad, she's pregnant. Stacy said that we will be very happy. She owns a caravan in the woods and has a stack of firewood for the whole winter. We share a dream of having many more children. Stacy has opened my eyes to the fact that marijuana doesn't really hurt anyone. We'll be growing it for ourselves and trading it with the other people that live nearby for cocaine and ecstasy. In the meantime we will pray that science will find a cure for AIDS so Stacy can get better. She deserves it. Don't worry Dad. I'm 15 and I know how to take care of myself. Someday I'm sure that we will be back to visit so that you can get to know your grandchildren. Love, Your Son John PS. Dad, none of the above is true. I'm over at Tommy's house. I Just wanted to remind you that there are worse things in life than a Report card. It's in my desk drawer. I love you. Call me when it's safe to come home.

I have both the BGE and the WSMC and they both serve a purpose. The BGE gets hotter for steak, it can sustain lower temps for longer periods of time (with the use of the BBQ Guru) and uses much less charcoal than the WSMC. The WSMC is very portable and I often take it camping or to friends to cook for them. I like them both, but the BGE is my workhorse. :-)

Brian, it was a pleasure meeting you and whenever you want to hit the big water to chase some chrome - just say the word! I have to add that Brian is an eagle eye on the boat....nothing moves without him knowing about it! Definately had a blast, too bad we couldn't find the hogs today..... -

Beginner's luck..... -
Took a couple of friends who don't fish for Salmon in Lake Ontario out yesterday as I was pre-fishing for the Salmon dance tournament. My tourney partner was pre-fishing Bronte and the plan was to compare notes and then decide where to fish on Saturday. As luck would have it, got into them early and often, with some crazy reel screaming action! Highlight of the day was a 26 and 25lb double header with the 26 off the rigger and the 25 off the copper. Rigger Fish: Copper Fish: Unfortunately, all we could post today was 45.90..... Thanks guys for two great days on the big water!!!

Awesome - thanks for sharing!

You can use braid if you like....no real advantage unless you are running very deep (150+) as the braid cuts through the water better for a bit less blowback. There is also some advantage to the no stretch properties of the braid at those depths. On the flip side, the no stretch properties may not be ideal when running higher (<80') as when large fish strike hard they put a great deal of stress on the system, very quickly.......so, some stretch can be quite helpful. Personally, I run mono off the riggers and reserve the braid for the dipseys or the torpedo divers. I will run an SWR off the riggers from time to time, which is a combination of mono and a couple of colours of core. Experiment and find out what works for you. Tightlines!

Thanks for heads-up!

Great day on the water - double digit type action. Mostly teenagers and low twenties - nothing worthy of the weigh scale. A couple of the footballs really dug in hard, which is always a blast. Be careful out there with your long lines.....just because someone has an expensive boat, doesn't mean that they know what they are doing (or what a planer board is) Don't miss this action - you can always give one of the charters guys a ring and enjoy this amazing experience! Iceguy and I, happy as pigs in sh..... FishingBarry with a nice Ho! Looking forward to the Salmon Dance and the Tightlines Shootout!!!
