Hey all. Does anyone know the date, time and location to this years kids' fishing day in Whitby? Is there a cost? Should I bring my kids rod's or is stuff provided and what type of fish are they fishing for, LOL! Thanks and if I can get out I look forward to meeting any other OFC'ers. Thanks. Geoff

Hey Mike, the Walmart in Whitby had a sell off bin of lures for $3.00 each and they had Spooks in it! You should check your local one and see if they have any deals on lures. Even if you have some of what's in the bin it's good to have a backup at that price...

ZING! 3 pages and this /\/\/\/\ was the best post. fishing any OOS fish shouldn't happen, just pick up an move on. I limit my time out on the water and what I use because of oos bass and how they defend the bed. So I go deep, hard and long and take it from there...

Hey all. So I got to my folks place Friday to quickly throw in the dock and the tinny. After dinner the kids and I cast off the dock (perch and rocky hunting) to come up with my daughters biggest (but oss) bass of her life. It was a whole 1.5LB's or so (just a guess as it wasn't even touched and did a self release when I told her to put it back in the water). So now we have put the kids to bed and I load up my tinny to head of to my fav. spot on the lake for some wallaye's. I put on my tried and true tested walleye lure and get all set. First cast, WHAM! I'm thinking hummm, no real fight it's got be be an eye so I get it boat side and look for the net I left it on the dock... But it was a mighty fine 19" eye, tasty too as we had it for lunch the next day. So on Sat my wife and kids want to go for a boat ride, sure I say. We launch the "big" boat and off we go. The kids and I each decided it's best we bring a rod while the Mrs was thinking of a nice boat ride... As we went past my "spot" I hooked into another one at 24.5". This one went on the stringer for a slow rid back to get a pic and then let go to make more big fat eyes. All and all, not to many fish this weekend but we all had a great weekend. Geoff Here is the 24.5" one. Go easy on my with my cottage gear on...

Nice report! If anyone ever said "hey Geoff let's go fish this lake I know the the back of my hand" and can catch a fish or two I would be all over it. So cheers to you and your "Old guy" for getting out.

I did an exchange on a broken BPS rod there with no bill of sale. The Manager On Duty is the person to talk to right when you walk in the door. Call before you go, ask who the M.O.D. is on the date and time you plan to go there so you can ask for them right when you get there.
