my vote is for Spiderwire as it's round and strong. I use moss green but if it came in red (for a deep troll) then I would use red as well.

I don't like the Ugly Stiks either. I hated the grip most. Yes, well one as the other grew legs and cannot be found. I like that you can load it up with a bit of a spin/whip and chuck the bait far! well, at least on my Street with a rubber plug tied on. LOL

Hey folks. Does anyone here have one? I picked up a 7' Shimano Voltaeus Med/Fast spinning one the other day at BPS and was wondering what YOU think of it. I know it's far from a Musky rod but how do you think it will do on the odd one caught while targeting bass (when the bass season opens)? I was casting with it out front last night with a shimano 2500 series reel (for now as it was sitting on my work bench) and I was chucking a 1/2 oz casting plug far! What do you think of this rod? The whole area around is being done by the same guy and it's all 6x6's so we just want it to look good. It's only $12.50 (after tax) a foot for everything. I may throw a 4x4 at the gate end against the house, not sure yet... *edit* my last fence we used 4x4's and it bent like a boxer taking a punch to the groin.

Here is the pic's of what I have to deal with. The end where the gate is going has a tent spike in the ground. We have to put if here due to windows and other things.

The gas line is above ground so he/we can see it and we know there is nothing below it (had it checked by the town). My place is siding so a 2x4 with tapcon's isn't going to hold a gate, I wish it did though... The fence is going up next week so I'm just trying to be ahead of any problems that might come up. I will try and take a pic of the area and post it then for ideas, thanks. Geoff

I am not worried how long it will take to get in the ground but thanks for the heads up. I just need the one as the fence guy doesn't want to drill a hole beside the house because there is a gas line there.

G, I had an electric one, a charcoal smoker and I'm now going to get a propane smoker to have an exact heat. That one does look got for the price but why is there a plug hanging out of it?

TJ, sorry about the gear gone BUT you have to get a pepper spray rig hooked up too. Now wouldn't that be a funny trail cam vid of some getting a shot in the face of that while tring to take a dead motor?
