  1. why not? then it becomes a REAL sport! hum, I might head to Whitby tonight too now that you have me thinking about it...
  2. I might try and chuck a spoon or two this weekend from shore and see how I do...
  3. but that wasn't for the fish the way I heard the story...
  4. nice 1st. my 1st got away when I tried to get it ready for a pic... check your local Lowes for Knipix cutters. they can save you and the fish better and faster then any other cutters out there.
  5. what a nice shade of blue it comes in too!
  6. Any place close to the Port Perry boat ramp and down to the independent store is decent to fish from shore. it just depends on what way the wind is blowing.
  7. sun and a bit o'wind in Brooklin.
  8. congrats to your son! No matter how big or small the selection is I'm sure he will make the best out of it. all it takes is a bit or 'word of mouth' to travel around as to his level of support and service and he will be one busy lad around the store. on another note, Gagnons in Osh should not be hurt too bad by Sail, after all they are just hurting themself right now with the much higher prices and customer service going way down hill. I was there for the sale and...nevermind, this is about your son, his love of fishing and a proud dad. CHEERS!!!!!
  9. I haven't been there yet this year but in years past I did ok over by Halimar resort's dock(s). In that bay and in the channel towards the other BIG resort close to them, I just forget the name of the other resort. All were caught on grub's with a jig.
  10. yes I do. YUM garlic and crawfish are good for a spray but I'm going to get some trigger-x stuff to try too. I also like the Megastrike paste as it stays on the bait longer. just don't mix the tube up with your toothpaste!
  11. I think young_one got his through a frind at Future Shop?
  12. I made the list!?!?!!? any time I can get out and go fishing with ya Bruce I'm in! I hope they didn't make you cut off those pony tails you have in your avatar...
  13. I fished with it all day again today and today I didn't use a floro leader, just direct to the jig head. again the casting was good but I cannot say that this is the new be all end all I must have line out there on the market. Mind you young_one was getting rather pissed with the fact I was catching a LOT more and bigger fish then he was so who knows...
  14. it was a good day yesterday and now I sit here and wait for young_one to show up so we can go fish in the rain.
  15. good point, thanks Garry. PS, I hope Mike got a hold of you the other day.
  16. Hey all. So, I had to help my dad yesterday move some things around so I headed off to his place on 4ML and I was there by noon and done what we needed to do. So, what else am I to do when I'm on the lake and my wife is home with the kids? That's right, GO FISHING! I tried some new spots and new baits as well and I got me a 1st by doing so. I got my 1st LMB on the lake! All I ever find is SMB, walleye, perch and the odd musky. I'll add the pic's when I d/l from my cell later on. It's raining out right now but it looks like it's going to pass in an hour or so. So, I'm getting everything ready and going to head back out again soon, cheers. Geoff
  17. I fished with it all day yesterday and so far I'm not sure what to think of it. It does cast a BIT farther then the 20lb spiderwire I use most times but I'm not finding any advantages to it yet. Time will tell.
  18. Nice read DanD! I would love for just a few hours like that out with any of my family (yeah, even my dad) as long as it was a 'shoot the bull and just fish' session rather then someone preaching on things during the time spent on the water... who knows, we all change at some point, maybe I will get my turn...
  19. that's it, I have to stop reading your posts! My bucket list grows every time I read one. I SAID BUCKET LIST you dirty minded folks...
  20. good on you SRT8 and the group with you!
  21. OH NO! You are not going to trick me into going to www.pleantyofphil.com AGAIN!!! or was that .ca? either way no WAY!!!!
  22. don't forget to do a few more wraps around in you do a uni-uni knot. Oh and let me know how it works out as I'm thinking of taking the line off my worm rod to try it out while I wait on my new combo... FYI, Whitby North store has 12LB all the way down to 6LB (maybe 4 but I wasn't looking for 4LB) in stock. Not a lot of each, just a few of each. The line feels great too....
  23. HAHAHAHA NICE!
  24. Hey Phil. With all that orange on, do NOT try and bite your ear while talking!! they may send you away thinking you got out of the loonie bin....
  25. we have a winner! You sir are correct. they say that it is to small for a baitcaster. I would hazzard a guess that if all goes well with this then we will see a higher LB test for baitcaster applications.
