I just found it kind of exciting. How it made it's way to downtown Aurora, I have no idea. There is a small conservation forest about 10min walk away called Shepherds Bush, I have a feeling it was in there. Did you leave some "toe jam" behind when you moved

Bottom line is, you can't have one segment of "society" that is allowed to play by a different set of rules. Ummm,,, we do already,.... Native Indians...... May not be "PC" to say it.... however I get a little annoyed when I have to pay for a license to get my TWO trout and they can harvest as many as they like.... what gives with that? Don't Mennonites and the Natives go to our "community" Hospitals.... ride our "community roads".... expect Police protection and the list can go on and on.... I know this might make me a redneck... but hey... I am

Now why would they ahave a fishing license? most of the ones i know don't have Social Insurance Numbers

Welcome to the board.. hint: Asking fishermen for good fishing spots on the internet is like asking a girl for sex before you get to know her ! And even then, you may not like the action suggested

So Canada has just put in 10.5 Billion in GM
splashhopper replied to holdfast's topic in General Discussion
and about that pension i just signed up to pay for the GM employees... NOT! what incentive is there, now, for other large corporations to keep paying in to the pension funds? NONE... they dont have to worrry because you and I just lowered their over head and they KNOW the government of the day " won't have a choice" but to pony up, yet again ! -
Yeah... kinda like how Roy is holding the fish in his profile pic ?

My contract is running out within 60 days and my current carrier(Telus) is really trying to keep me as a client.. I am a former agent with them as well and know how to work them over for the plans etc. My questions for the forum are: 1) If you were getting another cell phone and wanted GPS on it as well, is the cell phone version of GPS accurate enough in marking favourite fishing locations ? 2) Within how many feet of the target are they accurate? Thanks Splashhopper

they sound "industrial" to me... I wish they would come up with a "warning sound" that would vibrate through to my hands alerting me to the next SNAG in its path ! lol I have thrown away $30-40 worth of lures in the past three weekends hunting for pike.. Any suggestions to stop the bleeding ?

Botbot and Splashhopper finally got fishing
splashhopper replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Botbot is pumped for fishing again this year... We are gonna try and target as many species as we can from the rivers we have access to. Doc gave me a cortizone shot, finally ! I know it isn't a repair, but it sure as hell beats the pain at night and limited mobility for the work I do. Hope to post soon and more often. Thanks again -
Well... it's been a slow start to this year for me due to a torn rotator cuff. I finally started fishing about 6 weeks ago. caught my first pike of the year on a red devil and then this thing scared the crap outa me when I wasn't looking,,, the damned frog grabbed my mepps spinner with a mouse tail on it ! Enough about me, Botbot has been busy Training for Taekwondo Canadian Nationals all spring as well. She won the 2009 Nationals for 11 year old 2nd dan blackbelt (28 kilos)... woohoo!!! Last weekend we finally got out fishing together at a local mill pond. She likes bringing her other Taekwondo friend with us too. Nice spot to fish out of the direct sun too. Not too long after she and her friend were into the bluegils, "fast and furious" and again >> and again and again.... welll lets just say, she and her friend fished and i was unhooking them as fast as they caught em ! lol We hope to put some fish up for our team soon.. Thanks for the great site again. Splashhopper and Botbot

It sounds like you were doing what I do when life throws a curve ball or two: Go meditate with the fish.. The fish gods were smiling on you brother.... what a monster !

Why don't the spinnerbaits snag as much ? ( I am usually float fishing for trout)

Been a very slow season for me this spring due to a torn rotator cuff ... Could get out till three weeks ago.. I totally missed the trout season this spring Had to switch gears and try pike fishing... I don't have any buddies that fish for these fish, so I have been searching on line as best I could to find out about habitats and fishing techniques. Went out along the inner tribs of Lake Huron last weekend and finally got in to some... Started by "meditating with the fish"...lol And then as I was getting my mind real quiet.. .whammo on a red devil Here is another shot of it... ( I forgot my OFC sign in the van ) I am taking my buddy back up with me tomorrow, but this time with a canoe to see if we can fish em outa the weeds across that river in the first pic. Oh,,, and least I forget.... I lost 5/6 spinners and lures in all over the weekend.....is that just the cost of fishing for Pike due to the habitat they seem to like ? Thanks Splashhopper

Hi Beats.... Hoping to get to some "off the beaten path " rivers.. I am going to Wildwood in two weeks with my friend on his boat for some pike action. If I go north, I am gonna hit the Teeswater river where i fluked in to some pike last year. And them hope to just follow the gravel roads along the rivers and creeks to wherever my van takes me in that general direction towards either Owen Sound or Sauble Beach area,,, then back down the blue water highway and its tribs as I come across them. If I go south, I am thinking from Tilsonburgh down through Port Dover Long Point in any of the tribs along those parts. Whenever I end my worday on Friday will determine the direction I go for now. Thanks. splashhopper
